not sure what to do here - would it be lazy to just get her something off of her amazon wish list or should i think of something more? I've already gotten her a wing and a honeymoon right after the wedding...

i think she is planning to get something for me

I'd do something thoughtful. They like to romanticize the crap out of that day. It'd probably really piss her off if you just got something practical and useful. she'll appreciate
anything that will win her compliments or be able to really brag up to her friends about.
a diamond anything to go with that ring can't loose if you include a message like: "a diamond ring is forever, this is for all the time in between now and then". they eat that shit up! ;)

I didn't get my wife anything. Maybe I'm a dick, but I'm not aware of any tradition of giving each other gifts for your own wedding.

Seriously. You're already giving her half of everything, why does she need more? :p

Half if she gets a mediocre lawyer. That too, you'll get to pay for.

Is it a weawwy weawwy nice wing? ;)

A lovely wedding and a shiny diamond are all the gifts I'd imagine you'll need to satisfy.A honeymoon is icing on the cake. Hey, if she's getting you a gift, that's fantastic. Enjoy it! Women can give gifts to men without one in return, it's 2013 goddammit!

Yeah she said she is getting me something - I talked to my brother in law and he said he didn't get anything for my sister, lol

There you go right there. If it takes a "big" box, I'd not get her anything else. But, if it only requires a small-medium sized box.....you may wish to rethink it. ;)

It's not so much a wedding thing. That bride broke protocol. Even so, when a woman gives a gift, they usually expect something in return.
They may even go so far as say they don't want a return gift, but that's not usually what they mean. And....according to women, guys are supposed to know that. ;)

Yes, it is common practice for each to send a gift to the other the day/night before the wedding. I'm pretty sure my brother got his wife earrings of some kind? I don't think they were diamonds.

This. I personally think you need to nip this shit in the bud right now, otherwise you're going to be stuck playing these stupid games your whole married life. Aka about 5-7 years. ;)

Never heard of it either. Plenty of time to spoil her with semi-regular flowers-for-no-reason later. IMHO far more important than wedding gifts.

Left to their own devices most women would make every single day of the year a gift giving holiday. We should all buy stock in Hallmark and 1-800-FLOWERS.

Or we could start a fight club. WHO'S WITH ME!!! :)

LOL at the responses by all the guys compared to the one and only woman to chime in.
