I'm not sure the stat was even true, but wasn't it like the Walmart CEO made more in an hour than the average Walmart employee made in a year?

This. The only exceptions are two things I bought that they were selling below cost and thus lost money and some ammo. Though the damn things don't cycle so likely won't be grabbing any from there again.

Good read, though I know that all biz expenses get passed right back to the consumer. Raise the minimum wage and things will just cost more by that same amount.
Foreign investment in the USA will stop if we limit profit.
Unfortunately greed is here to stay.

Careful what you ask for, we're in the position Marx predicted was ripe for communism. :)

    http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2013/11/how-walmart-could-pay-decent-wage-without-raising-prices

According to the report, "A Higher Wage Is Possible," Walmart spends $7.6 billion a year buying back stock. Those purchases drive up the company's share price, further enriching the Walton family, which controls more than half of Walmart stock (and for that matter, more wealth than 42 percent of Americans combined.) If Walmart instead spent that money on wages, it could give each of its 1.3 million US employees a $5.83 per hour raise—enough to ensure that all of them are paid a wage equivalent to $25,000 a year for full-time work.

    So......a redistribution of wealth?
If the "haves" stopped riding on the backs of the "have nots", this world as we know it, would become unrecognizable.
Most world troubles would end if it were illegal to profit from the insecurity and misery of other people.
It's a nice dream but it'll take something completely devastating to bring it about.

There's always this cry about "redistribution of wealth" but it's already happened. The wealth has gone from a large and prosperous middle class to the upper class causing a large stratification between the haves and have nots. People just need to stop being brainwashed by groups telling them that they'll have the American dream and taxes on the upper levels must stay low and raising the minimum wage would directly impact their hypothetical future wealth.
    JZL says thanks for this.

Who's "crying", I was just asking.
When you really think about it, currency is just data in a computer.
We all know that this whole she-bang is unsustainable. Just how far it goes depends on how
much everyone likes getting ass raped on a daily basis. is there anyone out there that still
believes our leaders have our best interests in mind when they write the rules?
    How about now:

On topic in that the healthcare overhaul isn't designed to address the real problem. It's designed to keep things the way they are and
put off the collapse of the healthcare system and force sustainability from a doomed business model.
Everything that happens is a means of supporting an unsustainable system. I'm talking about the exact redistribution Smersh wrote about. The American Dream is a myth, nothing but a carrot-on-a-stick.

You have these Walton dicklickers on one side who never seem to have enough no matter who they fuck over and on the other side you have Bill Gates who's about to cure Polio forever and has vowed to give away 80-90% of his wealth before or at the time of his death.

Oh, and I wonder why Barton's congressional witnesses aren't just going-- "That's source code, you moron."

The point is a webpage viewer doesn't see that page's source code. It just as well say "I agree to give JZL a blowjob" as "You waive your privacy" or whatever. Even Barton says that it's hidden and the user doesn't see it. It has no legal significance whatsoever.

In this case, way more than a shitload. Like it's one of the stated platforms of the Republican party.
