Does freedom to national security mean freedom to blow up other countries? These closing statements are so awful and fake. Who are these robots, and how does anyone take what they say seriously? "And God bless each of us. And god bless our troops" ... I think I just threw up.
It seems like she downplayed herself when she answered with the "I'm not an insider". All you could hear was laughter. I'm sold on Biden though. He exerts experience, well-spoken and addresses (at least from what I saw) all the questions asked. Palin did a lot of "let me go back to what I was saying". yeah, yeah, call me one-sided. You can't deny that one far outweighs the other in experience.
I think at one point she said, "talibani" which I thought she was talking about one particular person. To the average joe I think Palin might of came out on top from this debate (slightly). However, to all the non morons out there who can see through BS and talking points I think it will reaffirm their beliefs that Palin is in no way qualified to be VP.
neither is a good choice, IMO. palin has no experience and is too fundie, and Biden is a socialist anti-drug crusader.
She couldn't segue smoothly from one point the the next if her life depended on it. Most of the time she was just rambling. But focusing on what's important, the bottom line is her credentials are crap. 2 yrs as a governor and you're ready to be a VP? No. That McCain would select her is still unbelievable to me. O'Biden might not be anything but your average politician but at least he's aware not every situation can likened to what happens at a childrens' soccer match.

Ya got me Chris. What I have stuck in my head is that Obama won't admit being wrong about the surge. Find a longer video.
Well lets face it, the only reason people were so interested in this debate in the first place was because everyone wanted to see Palin embarrass herself like her Katie Couric interview. Unfortunately that didn't happen, so as spectators we all lost. Its like going to a NASCAR race and not seeing a single big crash! When cars aren't crashing and exploding in 200mph fireballs, your just watching people going in circles, its the same old shit we have heard and seen!
There's no reason for me to find a longer video. Unless you've been blocking out what he's been saying in debates and interviews for months now, you'd know that while he FULLY ADMITS the surge has worked, our reasons for being there don't justify our troops being there or the money being spent. Not to be rude, but I did get you on this. You said he never, ever once admitted the surge worked and there are examples of that scattered across the Internet. There's absolutely no need for me to find a longer video. Why? So you can pick something out and spin it into something else? You were wrong, period.
That's why I watched, and I'd bet that's why most Republicans watched tonight as well. She fared well with Biden, but her lack of attention to questions and dodging issues to going back to something she feels more comfortable talking about is going to get a lot of attention. Also, the little things she threw in ("Joe Six-Pack", giving "shoutouts") are going to get her scolded as well. Joe Biden's strategy for this debate was to let others pick her apart for her little screwups and embarassing moments, and while there weren't as many of them as the Couric interview, she still came across as a fairly weak person. She pulled the "I'm a Noob" card to distance herself from Washington. That, in my opinion, will hurt her infinitely more than what she tried to do with that tactic. It was a so-so debate. There were no killing blows, there were no grand knockout punches thrown. But I think Joe Biden got his points across in a more clear, professional manner than Palin is even capable of.
It's one of the reasons I watched as well, doggonit. She came off much better than I expected but I'd still give the nod to Biden.
Calm down. I said, "ya got me." Quote me correctly or don't quote me at all. I'll say it one more time. I was thinking about the fact he wouldn't admit he was wrong about the surge. At least I'll admit when I'm wrong. Don't be such a dick about it. Oh and thanks for finally having a response that wasn't too smart assed in nature and was more than a couple of words.
