Lol. Oh this is priceless.
Those are imported ranchers from Nevada that like the recreational use of cannabis in Oregon.
We the people need to eat junk, get fat and gawk at smart phones too.
There is nothing finer than chewing on a little debby while attempting to open people's eyes to the pitfalls of administrative law and government over reach. BTW: Don't bogart that joint my friend!
Damn that government overreach and its 93% discount!
We can trust all things published on the internet, just ask Al Gore.
It evens out when private landowners can't arrest the BLM on terrorism charges for every controlled burn that get's out of control and destroys private lands. Which is probably greater than 50% of the controlled burns. Then there's the EPAand the expert way they know how to handle mine runoff.
On these types of charges, it's best to ask: who's terrorizing whom.
Who needs beef priced below 20 bucks a pound anyhow?
Wait wait wait. It sounds like you don't believe the two guys (who didn't ask for Bundy Jr's help) shouldn't go to jail for setting 100 something acres on fire to cover up their poaching.
Oh yeah, they should be prosecuted, but under "terrorism charges"?
The 100 acres weren't all on BLM land. It just spilled over onto BLM public land. The same way nearly every BLM controlled burn spills over onto private land. This is what the "government over reach"
concern is. They didn't have to prove intentional burning of the government controlled lands.
Those guys should have been tried for poaching and reckless burning and maybe destroying evidence. They probably would have seen even more time than the 5 years.
I'm just saying that the terrorism slant the prosecutor went with is bogus. It will get used as a catch-all legal craze by prosecutors everywhere and then where will the rest of us be in legal situations?
The media is using the terrorism slant to sway public opinion and build sensationalism into stories. It's a non issue that gained the attention of those Bundy nuts and now it's selling lots of ad space.
It's the same way with that article claiming a 93% discount for grazing lease. It's not the 100% rate which is market value for rich grazing land. Burns and the surrounding areas are not "rich' grazing lands. They are dessert. When the farm subsidy that controls prices for every grown in USA food item is factored in a 93% discount is what it looks like.
Terrorism? They pled to arson with full awareness of the 5 year minimum sentence:
Living in a dry state prone to wildfires and having grown up in an area that saw annual fires, I don't see the issue with this. Also, you know OR is dry or drying out, especially the southeastern part of the state.
(also Burns is an ironic name at this point)
Although it has given us some great fanfiction: http://www.pajiba.com/miscellaneous...-come-out-of-the-oregon-militia-shit-show.php
Bundy isn't from Oregon. This kind of thing has happened here for a long time. It just wasn't news worthy until the word: "terrorist" was injected by the media.
Every year, controlled and/or illegal burns spill over into national forest or BLM lands and guys get arrested for poaching almost daily. It doesn't get picked up by
the media. I don't see it so much as a militia shit show as much as it is a media shit show. Just one of many.
I think this is driven more by individuals in or on social media than it is by the news media. But like the one guy said, "Every successful revolution starts with takeover of a closed visitor center with gift shop."
Does that happen every day? I mean, come on, the one dude tweets out for snacks and quotes the Declaration of Independence in the same tweet. I'm tempted to jizz in a box of Cheese-Its and send it in.
Junk food and free protein... a win win
I'll never look at a box of Cheese-its the same way again.
Yes! That social media.....what a powerhouse of useful info!
I just can't picture you being a huge Cheese-Its fan to begin with.
I'm not really. The wife buys them and I end up gravitating to them and WTH.....nobody can eat just one. I'm more of a cheetos fan.
I have to avoid that addiction like the plague. One is too many and 1,000,000 is not enough.
The big puffy ones or the skinny crunchy ones?
I like both but the puffs are my favorite.
Agreed. There's nothing quite like the full on Puffs chomp. Plus you get more of the orange finger dust with the Puffs.
You're forcing me to go out and buy a couple bags
Are people really that bored?
I think everyone just needs to chill out. What does it matter? Does anything happening really affect anyone's lives at all (other than entertainment value) ? Is anything actually going to change no matter what anyone does?
This is one of the rare cases where if it's ignored, it will probably go away.
What, no butt-plugs?
I think the public anger against them is great. Should help dissuade future morons.
I was kind of disappointed in the lack of keel weights.
