Cartoony Diablo clone from the makers of the original Diablo. Very very similar just updated. I dumped hours upon hours on the original and am loving this game. Girlfriend is enjoying it as well and she has never played much in this genre before. Best part is it plays great on my Mini 9, so can play during my commute. First game I have ever seen that has a netbook mode.
Awesome game...started with an Alchemist. Love the ability to send my pet off with items to sell. Great idea Never played this kind of game so sorry if it's not new or anything
I am playing the ranged character but think I might rerole the alchemist. The pet sell feature really is great. No town runs just to sell gear. I also like the fact that your storage in town is shared between all characters, so all the good alchemist gear I have found I can use to power level. The bad side is no multiplayer right now. There are some rumours about it going the MMO route though. Very polished single player game at the moment. EDIT: Upon further research an MMO is definately in the works. The single player was just released as a sort of teaser until the MMO is done.
Big turn off being single player only. I may pick it up when the MMO version comes out if D3 isn't out by then.
Sounds like a lot of fun. I'll try out the SP and hopefully the MMO comes soon. edit - just bought it, downloading now.
Really good game. Pretty easy though. I've been playing on Very Hard and it seems to be a good balance.
Played for about an hour on Hard, but I kept getting distracted. It was still easy up to this point I really like the game so far. An MMO would be amazing.
Im playing a Battle Alchemist now. Level 13, super fun. He can dish out some pretty mean spell damage from afar then when the mobs get close switch over to tank mode and go melee. Get blink in a few levels.
Played a bit more last night. I used the melee dude and it's a lot more dangerous and I actually died once (!). I might use my alchem guy again but have to start over with a higher difficulty.
The modding scene is pretty stong already for this game and it is fully backed by the developers. There are a couple mods out to change the difficulty. Also there are mods to respec your character, which is pretty boss considering they nerfed a couple skills with the last patch.
I started playing it last night a bit and it was pretty fun. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the controls. I wish I could move around with WASD and fire with left mouse button. I often find myself moving towards an enemy instead of attacking him because I misclick.
Oh, I just discovered you can hold shift when you attack and it will force attack without moving you... I guess this is common knowledge if you play a lot of rpgs, but it's new to me.
Hah, just realized I can simply hold a mouse button... Level 6 or something with my caster dude, using dual wands that shoot all kinds of magic stuff (one zaps a bunch of guys, restores mana, the other shoots a big ball of death).
Ya I never realized how much just feels natural to me after playing Diablo and Diablo 2 so much. I was watching my girlfriend play the other day and it was painful. You guys have all passed me now, havn't had a chance to play much. We should post up some pictures of our toons.
