Woman shot six times in head lives - CNN.com

Six shots to the head with a .32 and not one pierced her skull? I'm throwing my .25 Baby Browning away! :)

If you're gonna shoot someone in the head do it right. How the hell can you NOT kill someone if you plan to shoot them in the head. Amateurs.

"Doctors could not explain why the .32-caliber bullets did not penetrate Pereira's skull and didn't even need to be extracted immediately."

I know what happened.........She's stubborn and hard headed.

    1. I would say this shooting was a freak of nature. Most likely the rounds were from the same lot that was purchased and the powder wasn't of a sufficient load. Fortunately the asshole had bad rounds.

    2. .45 caliber is all that should be carried by LEO's or anyone else that can shoot.

Had I been the 1st person to reply w/ this type of response, I'd attempt to pop a joke along these lines.

yup, i was thinking about this the other day after i watched an ammo show on the history channel.

they were saying they would like a non lethal round, but it would stop the criminal like a lethal round.

My thoughts, if you're going to shoot somebody in the line of duty, either the son of a bitch deserves to die, or you should really reconsider why you are going after that person.

I carried a USP 45 and the 9 for years. I absolutely love their nomenclature. I wouldn't switch for any Smith or Baretta but, the Sig and of course Glock are respectable.

32 auto is a weak assed cartridge i'll tell you that much, its just a step up from .22lr heh.. .

I don't care how thick your skull is, if you shoot a 9 or 45 caliber handgun at that persons head those bullets will penetrate.

357 mag has about twice as much muzzle energy as the two said cartridges above, and a 50 action express has about 5 times as much.

I personally believe in the 45 auto, probably the best handgun cartridge ever made, and one of the oldest at over 100 years. It has two and a half more grains of lead in each bullet than a 9mm.

I'll never understand the desire for 100% lethal rounds for commercial use.

As fucked up as the situation is, I can guarantee you she didn't get up quickly after being rocked in the head 6 times.

heh.. yep you are correct. Some people are stronger than others, I've seen videos of huge assed black guys taking a shot right in the stomach and still swinging strong even after he was pepper sprayed.

Sometimes a round that does excessive damage like magnum cartridges are necessary to stop someone.

Word. But that said I'm pretty sure that a few shots of 9MM extreme shock shells would stop ANYBODY...

Pepper spray won't completely stop anybody. It is just to temporarily stun the person (usually for just a second or two) to give you the benefit of suprise. They will generally still kick and punch while under the influence of it, but they generally have no clue where they're aiming. :D It just makes your life really suck for a minutes (eyes/skin burn, can't breathe, panic effect, etc...).

lol, that reminds me of the 45/9mm rounds that have poisen tips. They look the same, and fragment inside the body upon impact yet there is a very lethal poisen imbedded within the round. So even if they survive the hit in the leg, they'll be dead within the hour.
It was on the net, there is a site that sells them, just can't remember what it was.

You know that here in TN these would count as premeditated murder. Why in the hell would anyone buy these? It's a sure fire ticket to a PMITA prison.

I just wonder how accurate those extreme shock shells are. Not exactly the most aerodynamic design ever...

Why not use incindiary rounds? If the round doesn't kill them, it will yeild everything in an 8 inch radius in their body useless (or cooked, I guess). Only bad thing is they will catch fire to anything or everything beyond what you're shooting at if you aren't careful.

I've heard, from a local police officer who use to do swat, that the tip of the round doesn't have as much to do with the accuracy so much as the outer edge (round part). Either way, don't most self defense cases happen with in 10ft?

They're about as accurate as a wadcutter or a hollowpoint my friend, and that means dead on at 20 yards I'm sure just like any other type of bullet. Your not trying to kill shit at 100 yards are you?

Those poisen rounds btw, I agree with you when you say that they are rediculous. They're illegal in some states, and I'm sure prohibited in canada.

I'm going to try and find the site again...
