Man, I took some meh, not so much pics from my weekend bike ride, and for some reason, this is the pic that instantly gained several "likes" on Flickr. What's up with that? CRW_0876
Yep. An old Steam Locomotive Water Tower. Evidently popular with the local graffiti artists. I guess some folks are just into studies in rust...

Shrooms!..............on the same tree as last fall. My favorite time of year has arrived! I love free food from the forest. The prize: 7 1/2 pounds of oyster mushrooms!
It's about morel time here. They say to look for those about the time the May apples bloom. I have a bunch of May apples on one side of my yard, but I've never seen a morel.
I was looking for Verpa Bohemica (early morels) when I found these. Verpa Bohemica come out about this time of year. Morrels are soon, real soon depending on the weather. We just had a super drenching rain and the temps are slated to be in the 80's from this week end on. I may head to the mountains this week end with the Samurai and see if the shaggy manes are popping up yet. Spring chanterelles and chicken of the woods shrooms may be a pleasant surprise also. Oyster mushrooms like the ones I found are prime and sell for $16-$20/lb. My yellow shroom hunting rig:
It really does say "Tonka" on there, doesn't it? That takes me back to my childhood, when a Tonka Truck like that could fit in my hands.
Yeah, I named it Tonka because, as a kid, those were my favorite toys and I beat the snot out of them too. The wife doesn't understand at all. That is, until she saw the price of the Raptor side-by-side I was going to get. I've still got about 5 grand before I even get close to the price of one of those. So far rebuilding this has climbed to the 8 thousand mark. But hey, the drivetrain is now new: Engine, transmission, transfer case, drivelines and front as well as rear suspension are all new or rebuilt. I'm in the market for new tires next. Those are better than 350 per tire, mounted and balanced and I need 3 to go with the new tire and rim I have for my spare. I'll continue with the Toyo Open Country M/T 33X10.5's. Or...for the price of 3 of those, I can do 4 of the BFG M/T's like are on there now.
Riding the Nickel Plate Saturday. What the... at least it's a... unique landmark, whatever it is. A Medieval Crenelated... Grain Silo? Oh, and you wonder why Illinois has budget problems? A water fountain for pets... CRW_0896
Just scrolling through a facebook list of awesome landmarks from every state.....pretty sure some of you are from Ohio......why has no one mentioned this EVER!????????
Ooh. Tons of rancid butter, used to sculpt a religious icon. Something smells here... :whistles: I offer a simple pic of the Miissiipii... Misisipi... Misssisiipppiiii... $(*%&^%(&%#*)#%&%^)*&!!!!! River. CRW_0928
