Well I'm in Cape Town and as always everything is falling into place nicely. We are probably going to a music festival for new years then off to Namibia for a week or so, then on to Durban to start the real driving trip. Internet at my friends place sucks, but I'll try to have a new blog up in a few days. (and yes I sold the subie)
In the mean time, here's a video preview of Scott's adventure:
Cape Town is a pretty awesome place. We went off to the music festival but it was sold out, so instead new years was spent back at the house with beers and a BBQ. The trip to Namibia has been called off because it wasn't making sense any more. In a few days we will be taking the train to Durban and shortly after the real trip will start. Internet access sucks, Chris just has this little phone thing that is slow, and I have to do it on his computer which isn't great and makes everything harder, but whatever. I hope to have a new blog up in a day or so, watch for it!
Sweet Jah that beach looks amazing. Nothing compares to the power of the sea. Scott you might actually help kick start my travels again, I'm starting to get the itch...

Yes Torx, there will be plenty of pictures/videos of the diving, that's the biggest reason I bought the GoPro

I'm not in the small town of Dundee, South Africa, just met our third travel partner yesterday and we are busy gathering supplies. Also, it looks like the original trip may be impossible and we are creating a totally new route. http://scottsnextadventure.blogspot.com/2012/01/why-didnt-anyone-tell-me-south-africa.html
The obvious truth is that in many ways we don't know where we will end up. If something changes and it becomes easier to enter Egypt we may be able to do the Cape to Cairo after all, but if not it will look something like this: (lol, I told him I wouldn't share his drawing with anyone) Also, my digital camer has a GPS and is tagging photos as I take them. It's not perfect an I haven't really figured out how best to use it, but that should provide a pretty good map of our route.
