Really? I'm not sure I've lost any weight so far, haha. Last time I weighed myself I was like 165, a week or so before I set out on this ride.

Bike riding can consume a lot of calories. When I did my 100km in less than 5 hours, I burned over 4000 calories.

Even if you're doing 60km in day, that's still a lot per day.

So I just spent 3 days in a canoe on the Okavango Delta, it was fantastic.

Last night I was kind of feeling like badass traveler royalty. I had people cooking me dinner, buying me drinks, smoking me out, mending my clothes and listening to my stories. Try to stay humble :p

Then I saw a 1974 VW van with Bob Marley, Hendrix, Zepplin and whatnot painted on it and knew I had to meet the guy. 15 minutes later I'm throwing my bike in the back and we are going to offroad through the parks into Zambia together.

    I love my life.

    Fantastic! New blog posting up?

But yeah, I'd would LOVE to have one of those Beetle type 2s. Easy to keep running, big enough to live in, just awesome.

No new blog just yet, hopefully in two days or so. The VW is awesome, Stefan and I are already dreaming up a USA road trip in my Baja Bug :p It's awesome, everyone loves the VW, we get lots of good attention and no problems at all.

Not sure why that last photo is in that stupid attachment box instead of in the main body, so I'm going to post it gain because it's fucking awesome. That was just last night. I was chasing bugs around in dark trying to get photos, when I also ran into a 4-5 foot python, surprised me quite a bit.... ah the Africa bush, love it.

    So awesome.

Now that my boss became an ass again and I feel like quitting the hospital, your adventure inspires me more and more.

Would you like to team up for an adventure in Oceania?? :)

So what are your plans going forward? Seems like at your current pace you could be over there indefinitely.

EDIT: Also, what would you say is your cost per day on this trip?

It would be a small price to pay to benefit from your travel experience and streetwise.

I will be coming home in late June of next year, my best friend is getting married in late July and I want to be home for that, then live on the island and help build the farm my friends are starting. With that timeline, I will have a full year and a half in Africa, and that isn't too bad. My dream is to spend a year on the island where I want to build and live in a tree house, then kayak from Seattle to Mexico, then surf for a few months.

As for costs, I honestly don't know. The first 3-sh months cost a shit ton because I was buying all kinds of gear for the original 4x4 trip and fuel. These days it's a huge amount less. I spent three full months in South Africa without paying for a place to sleep once, and for probably two months out of that was eating for free as well. Often all I'm paying for is food and drinks, so it can be very cheap.

Anything can happen, keep it in mind ;)

That's awesome, and a pretty solid plan. The other day I saw an article about a guy that had been backpacking all over the world for the last 30 years, and though of you. :)

With all the chicks you meet up with, you HAVE to be getting some. Or just don't feel the itch?

If he's not assexual, he really hides his cards :)

Maybe he was traumatized by Couturedharlot? He doesn't want any of that BS anymore.... :)
