Avoid Tickets - If you get pulled over to receive a ticket, shut off your Xbox 360 before it saves and turn it back on. No ticket! :)
Easy Money - The easiest money is in the car courier missions. They take a while but if you drive perfect (no damage or going offroad at all) you get an extra $45,000. Also, there is easy money in the "170 MPH in Heavy Traffic" race. Just go into the far right lane and get up to 170, hit A, A, then Y to do it again. Quick $20,000...

It's $40 for Xbox 360. I just picked it up and started playing through it. I'll post more about it after I've played it a bit more, but so far it's really cool. I have a wheel so it's really fun to cruise around and act like a jackass.

Has anyone else purchased this game?

tweakmonkey, you and me should play sometime when I get it. Ill kick your ass when I get the McLaren F1!!!

i found this game to be a let down like all the other test drive games.. it seems regardless who makes it, if it has the test drive title in it, its destined for failure.

The modifications system is pretty weak, but I've got a modified Z06 now (600 HP, 2900 lbs), modified Ninja 1000 (goes 220 MPH and can do wheelies at 200+) which is fun for jumping...

I have two houses in the game and five vehicles total. My other cars are a Saleen S7 twin-turbo, Saturn Sky, and Caterham Seven (stage 3 mods also).

My brother just picked up the game yesterday. We ended up playing it for around 6 hours straight trading off racing and driving. I really enjoy it, its fun, and when you get used to a cars dynamics, you can race around and be pretty effective. What I dont like is the cops, its a wasted feature and feels added on. It can be destructive to gameplay and should be able to be turned off. Other than that, its a fun game, and I enjoy it. I cant wait to go play it some more.

Oh a tip, dont try driving off road for any long distances, its just annoying and eventually takes longer. When youre trying to check out every car shop, just drive, it will take less time.

It definitely reminds me of Motor City Online. You can setup challenges at hangouts (diners) and pick races with anyone you run across which is pretty neat.

Thumbs down: You can't use a steering wheel and expect to use the Instant Challenge feature because you have no left analog stick, so you can't move the cursor to a race finish line.

Well, thats why you buy a good wheel. I guess the only good one will be the xbox 360 one coming out soon. If I get a 360, then Ill get that wheel. Go racing games!!!

Does anyone know step by step how and where to enter the code for the 2 free cars? I've exchanged my sons' code with another member and received a token number. We can't figure out exactly through XBOX Live how to go about inputting the token code and getting the cars!! Help ASAP because he's pissed. Maybe we weren't fast enough to be one of the first 10,000?

Well in the email you received, it tells you to enter it in the Xbox Live Market place. Im not familiar with exactly how it works because my brother did it. Hes not that technically inclined but he figured it out pretty easily. Just make sure to enter it right and that your connection is fine. There have been issues I guess with alot of people not being able to finish the download and then the code wont enter again to redownload. So good luck with it. My brother downloaded them, but you still have to pay for them in game, so dont expect to use them just yet unless youve been playing the game for a long time.

carbon isn't going to be like nfsu;nfsu2;nfsmw where its all street racing.. its going back to the old schoolness where its just random car + random track.

also its featuring some canyon running which sounds like fun.

Sounds like Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, with their canyon racing...

Shit, thought that first pic was real until it resized and I saw the 'jaggies'. That game looks nice.

Hmm looking at that screenshot, I don't believe that first one's real. The license plate looks way too clear and the blurriness is weird - I don't remember it in-game.

The game is really starting to come to life now. There are timed 120 mile races that you basically take flat-out across all of the island, driving through cities and suburbs, mountains, beach roads, etc. It's awesome.

While doing races on the east coast, there were a few other players riding bikes through a mountain road and they tried to ditch me but couldn't because my car had 850 HP, although I was drifting like mad around those hills trying to keep up.

Now that I have a few more cars and bikes I am finding myself more involved with the game. I've got a Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, a few bikes (some Italian thing, a Ninja 1000, and some slow one), and a handful of other cars.

I'm saving for a McLaren F1 but the one I want is $1.5 million. I think it'll be fun punking guys cruising around on bikes with that. I've dueled a few fast cars with the Saleen. I think my win/loss ratio is probably 90% but I generally race slower cars it seems.

    Cool stuff so far:
    1) I didn't want to buy a $40,000 Audi but wanted to go off-roading, so I rented an AWD S4 turbo and took it up the side of the mountain.
    2) Near the top-left of the map on the main highway there's a giant jump for bikes at 220 MPH, and some really fun races.

    The biggest complaints so far:
    1) The modification system only allows the car to be set from 1-3 stages with a flat price. There's no tuning, no detail of individual components, or specific helpful items like a transmission or tires - you have to buy one big stage that supposedly changes various values like HP and weight.
    2) Even though there are tons of multiplayer races, it seems like I have to wait ages to get in one.
    3) I really wish you could have some kind of damage or replay after spectacular freeway crashes doing 200 MPH into traffic.
    4) (unrelated) My POS Joytech steering wheel broke the left paddle.

    easy money

i have seen that no one has posted this before so i will, im really not that good at the racing so instead i make all the money i want when you make it to the champion level you can make $75k every 20 sec. or less. Take your fasted 'b' class car to the 180 mph downtown speed race. once the race starts turn the car around and race that direction you should be able to get up to 180 within 20 sec.
