What a bunch of pussies. What kind of system sends a squad of what look like SS soldiers into a family's home in the middle of the night and kill their pets in front of the family over a pot misdemeanor? How much tax payer money did this cost? Whatever judge gave this warrant should be stripped of his license.

It is no wonder there is little to no respect left for the police and law system in general any more.

EDIT: After a little more research the two dogs they shot were a pit bull that was caged and a Corgi. Seriously a fucking Corgi! OMG it is coming right for us! This is a pretty typical Corgi: Most are fluffier. What kind of chicken shit do you have to be to shoot a dog in a cage and a tiny lap dog in front of the kid?

I had heard about this last february, I had no idea a video popped up.

This is one of the major problems with the drug war: it over militarizes our police system, and encourages bad police behavior. Do any of these people get punished? hell no! They get promoted!

This is why it really bothers me when law enforcement endorses disarming the public.

I can't watch the video, but from the sounds of it, I don't even want to...
police will shoot anything they feel threatened by, like for example... this... But when a citizen feels threatened by the police, they can't do anything to defend themselves? Not fair at all....sometimes I hate the police. They've actually never really done anything to help me. Not even when a crackhead was squatting in my house and wouldn't leave. They all stank.

    I followed thru jackoffalope's link: http://www.columbiatribune.com/news/2010/feb/23/family-questions-swat-drug-search-that-led-to/
I kind of see the whole "we have to use SWAT because they possibly had large amount of drugs" (I am ignoring the whole legalize-it spiel here), but if the dog is in a cage and clearly not coming at you, they need to drop the hammer on the guy who pulled the trigger. I think it would cut down on a lot of this kind of shit if they start making a very public example of just a few

and that attitude perpetuates the cycle. you think the cops are all dicks and treat them accordingly, they take it and come to treat you like shit, etc.

Pfft do you really believe they used swat "because he had a buncha drugs"? Are thr whole bunch of drugs going to start smoking themselves at the cops?

And what a suprise: he didn't have a ton of drugs. But of course this guy, his family and his dogs were a menace to society, worthy of sending a swat team full force upon.

I also call bullshit on " well if we could have served it during the day when the wife and kids weren't there we would have"

these guys are supposed to have the house under surveillance and there wasn't a single time he was home they weren't? Doesn't he have a job they could find him at? Why wait until night to do it if you're going to go infront of the kid anyway?

Drug dealers tend to be armed. Except pot dealers. But I'm not sure the cops see a distinction.

good point on the other part, i didnt even think about that.

A the very least the cop that shot the dog should be fired, if criminal charges haven't already been filed against him. If somebody barged in my door and shot my dog my first instinct would be to shoot them.

If they're found at fault for anything, they'll just get a paid vacation. I always see "suspended with pay". I think they're usually reviewed by other cops so they get off lightly. The police police the police.

This is an obviously biased video with cherry picked situations but it still has some truth to it. It's amazing what the police can get away with. It's scary because I kind of say to myself as I watch it "Man, someone call the...oh,wait". The one where they stripped the lady naked for no reason really disturbed me. That could be your wife, sister, girlfriend, etc., and you can't do shit about it.

I only know one cop personally and he is an abusive asshole who beat his wife. She divorced him and tried to press charges but they were dropped as she has no proof and it is her word against his.

Just playing Devils Advocate here but where in the video did it show that a "Caged" animal was shot? I watched it twice but didn't see it.

Edit: Some of you are absolutely stupid. Not sure what world you're living in to be honest. For instance Jake knew a cop once and he thinks he beat his wife............doesn't know for sure I guess because if he did he would have gone and testified on the wife's behalf. Right? A real man would have done the right thing. Don't get me started on comparing SWAT officers to SS troops. I can go step by step and explain logically why the police did what they did if you wish......if your willing to hear the truth.
