Does the chase story have anything to do with the Supreme Court story?

There's even some progress in Missouri. Starting in 2017, possession of less than 10g gets a max $100 fine. Unfortunately it will still be a misdemeanor which means it hasn't been de-criminalized into an infraction. The felony cut-off in MO stays at 35 grams. (Between 10 and 35gms is a higher level misdemeanor)

TBH, I think the only reason pot remains illegal in MO is so cops can use it as a "gateway" to search for meth.

    Unrelated (tangentially) but hilarious.

:( I think KS is going to legalize it before MO, I mean KS was also a free state so are already a bit more progressive...

They changed our leases to include a "Landlord's Commitment to Drug Free Housing" that basically says we follow federal law and your right to smoke, medically or recreationally, is not protected. Manufacture, possession, consumption or distribution is grounds for automatic lease termination (which accelerates the entirety of the lease due and throws on an absurd amount of money). It's my favorite addendum right now.

Kansas is less progressive than MO. There's no KC, St. Louis, or Columbia to counterbalance the billy-joe-bob affect. Google "Sam Brownback" and/or "What's the matter with Kansas?" (A great read, by the way)

Pot and tobacco use causes lots of damage to rental units. They require a new paint job and carpet replacement to get rid of the smell.
    Who pays?

I'm actually not seeing any pot related damage, but we're a Class A property in the 'Burbs. However for cigarette damage, the resident pays. I charge a pro-rated amount based on the lost life of the carpet, contractor costs for smell removal and cleaning charges for the inevitable cigarette stains on the balcony.

Leave it like I gave it to you, you don't pay a dime. Leave it a mess and you get to deal with our new collections department that works as an agent of the owner and does not have to adhere to collections laws. (It's shady.)

Are you effin' kidding me? I hate to bother you with, you know-- FACTS.

    http://www.statista.com/statistics/190376/top-us-states-in-wheat-production/

Kansas even has draconian alcohol laws. They had prohibition from 1881 to 1948 and never ratified the 21st Amendment.

The alcohol laws of Kansas are among the strictest in the United States, in sharp contrast to its neighboring state of Missouri (see Alcohol laws of Missouri), and similar to (though somewhat less rigid than) its other neighboring state of Oklahoma (see Alcohol laws of Oklahoma). Legislation is enforced by the Kansas Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Kansas had statewide prohibition from 1881 to 1948, longer than any other state, and continued to prohibit general on-premises liquor sales until 1987. Kansas's strict and highly regulated approach to alcohol stems from lingering vestiges of its long era of prohibition. As of December 2012, Kansas had 13 dry counties, where on-premises liquor sales are prohibited, but the sale of 3.2% beer is permitted.[1] As of April 2013, Kansas still has not ratified the 21st Amendment, which ended nationwide prohibition in 1933.

And another thing, The Spirit of St. Louis hangs in the main entrance to the Smithsonian Aerospace museum next to the Bell X-1 and over the Apollo 11 command module. I don't think there are any SR-71's in there.

No doubt, if you lived in KS you'd want to drink to. However, keep in mind CO only began selling alcohol on Sunday a few years ago and still does not allow car sales on Sunday. But: http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_29670695/12-beer-consumed-u-s-now-comes-from

With some of these new anti-gay "religious liberty" laws, couldn't you just claim you're a rastafarian?

There's bound to be friction when one group seeks through legislation to force another group to do anything.
Sooner or later it'll boil over.

Utah downed a bill for medical MJ recently. No surprise there. Just like all the Mormon sheep followed Romney's plea to vote for Cruz. It was like 70% Cruz here.

I hope by "ridiculous show" you mean the presidential election cycle and not legalization of spliffs. :crazy3:

I guess I didn't realize some states were allowing growing pot for personal use. I was like, "It's facking legal, make 'em smoke it out on the back patio, ffs." I guess in our climate you probably could grow it out on the back patio so long as you could stockpile some for the winter.

I can possess up to an ounce at a time & grow 6 plants per person (12 per residence in Denver). However:

I have a large grow next door. I also have a shit ton of skunks in the area. There's no way to differentiate between the two smells.
Could you imagine taking the fall for a stinky assed animal? The only real complaint I have, is the butt ugly visual barrier that the state requires
be around legal grows. The neighbors have a 10' high 3 mil black sheet plastic fence that looks like something a hillbilly built. The neighborhood is up in arms about it
not the smell. The only other thing that is a negative, is the people drawn to the area capable of armed robbery.

When I wrote the bit about growing on the back patio, the thought of interlopers crossed my noggin'. Can't you keep the plants relatively short in the grooming/trimming process? BTW, are you using the same plants every year or do you have to grow new every season? (annual or perennial, I guess)

Not just that, in business, you'd want to grow the fastest/best selling strain.
