http://www.csmonitor.com/Science/20...oon-eclipse-What-is-it-and-how-can-I-watch-it The supermoon eclipse is a confluence of three events: a full moon; a total lunar eclipse, in which the moon passes into the Earth's shadow; and lunar perigee, when the moon is in the part of its elliptical orbit closest to Earth. As the lunar show progresses, Earthly viewers will see a large "blood moon" glowing burnt-red in the eastern sky. I disagree with the article that this is rare. It happens every 15-30 years, which is nothing astronomically. Still, hopefully it'll be cool. ~ 10pm EDT.
I saw the blood moon....it was massive a red but that was a few months ago.... What was this last one like?
