    I'm not, but it's a great example that everything we say/do can be held against us if we want a public job.

    Being senator is time consuming if you do your job well. So I agree that it can be an issue if she plays hardcore. Aside from that, it's quite a stupid story.

    I used to play WoW. It's really not very hard to be max level and do raids casually. Most non-hardcore guilds have scheduled raid nights that are generally only 2 nights a week. We used to raid Thursdays and Sundays, leaving the entire rest of my week free if I didn't feel like logging in otherwise.
    I also get annoyed at how demonized playing video games is. I bet her opponent spends an equal amount of time at home watching television, but that's somehow socially acceptable.

    But unlike TV, which is passive, she's actually engaging her mind in goal-oriented cooperative behavior-- for which the reward stimulus is, uh, stabbing people.

    I wonder if people would have had an issue if she played an MMO that came out less than a decade ago.
