I recently moved into a new 3 bedroom townhouse in Baltimore and I live on the top floor. While I love the place, my room does not have a door or "closed" stairs. The stairs are "open" in that they do not have a back. (It actually looks very cool and modern however it is not a practical for noise privacy. Anyway I want to buy a temporary board or something to sound proof it and I was wondering if anyone would know where to buy such a thing.

    Imagine this

My landlord is great but does not want to start hammering into the stairs so he suggested looking into one of these temporary walls i suppose. He already found an option or two but I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts. I know it sounds weird but I could use some help.

All i have now is a shower rod holding a thick curtain at the bottom of the stairs and I'm a bit tired of hearing everything in my house and them hearing me.

    Thanks!

Need more pics of room and shower curtain thing. I don't understand from the pic you posted how adding risers to the stairs is going to help soundproof your room...
