Woah, totally forgot a new Batman was coming out. I'd love to see it, not sure how to arrange that though... I'll be curious to see some reviews.

Edit: HOLY SHIT, just read an article about that shooting, wow... seriously wtf.

Check another box for my home theater! Anybody shot down here will be done by me. :)

    EDIT:

And, WTF people? Who takes a baby to a violent rated R movie at night?

I have walked out of and demanded refunds for times when there were crying babies in the theatre. IMHO: got a baby? wait until the BD comes out or get a sitter.

PG-13. But yeah...who the fuck takes a baby to ANY movie? I've been to movies where I'm sure some chick is nursing her kid while the movie is on. Retarded.

I just hope my son doesn't drink too much, too fast, and have to get up in the middle or near the end to go to the bathroom.. :)

Man, he graduated a year after I did from UC Riverside. Pretty crazy he's in custody, one of the few times these psychos don't off themselves before the police get to them.

So who'd care to speculate why the crazy fuck did it? I'm going to guess he's a comic nerd, with a villain complex, and he was off his meds.

EDIT: One thing is for sure, the media needs to stop splashing his picture all over the place. Fame and notoriety is what the little fuck wanted.

some key things ive already thought about...

the kid was obviously intelligent, studying neurosciences and pharmacology, etc etc
whats the motive? i dont wanna accept the same old "depression, anxiety, stress from school blowup" that media likes to use.

im willing to bet you, the kid took a shift in conciousness and said fuck it.. almost like he probably believed this reality is a facade, matrix like, movie like... he probably explored parts of his mind that noone else should which reshaped his stance on life and why we are here. someone this intelligent and knows about brain function HAS to have discovered something and just said fuck it.

if they find weed, drugs, paraphenalia, or mind altering substances in his apt.. imma be fucking mad as hell. the media and fed/dea will put a ban on everything so damn fast..
and we'll be right back to square one. isnt colorado a state where weed is legal?? you know damn well ppl are out there looking for an excuse to ban compound and substances as such.

but man, what a terrible tradgedy.. i thought maybe humankind was on a the verge of a change.. but i guess not.. we're still miserable premordial savages that cant escape our own insanity we've been given at birth

It's horrible that such a thing took place, quite a tragedy. However, what would really bother me is that if later on they use the whole insanity plea, totally sabotaging any efforts to penalize this guy.

    I did not know her:

    Dear University Community,

With great sadness I wanted to inform you that MSU Denver student Jessica Ghawi was one of the victims in last night’s shooting in Aurora. A broadcast major, Jessica was very connected to the faculty and students in the department, as well as Denver’s sports broadcast community.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go to Jessica’s family, friends, and those whose lives she touched at MSU Denver.

Once we hear more, we will provide details on a memorial service, and any other information of the shooting that may impact the university.

I want to remind you that the Counseling Center is available at **, and their crisis number is **.

    Sincerely,

    Stephen M. Jordan, Ph.D.
    President

A friend the girl I'm seeing went to high school with was in the theatre but escaped uninjured. Only one I don't know their safety and could have been in the area is my ex and well I have weird feelings about reaching out.

I went to the Film School about 2 miles west of the theatre and my company is headquartered a mile and a half south so unfortunately I'm quite familiar with the area.

Also would someone let God know Colorado is done with all the crap. That would be great.

A horrible tragedy to say the least. My heart goes out to the people slain and injured.

Hope they do a brain scan on him to find any abnormalities.
The blame games have begun! This is what I think about them.

Thank goodness he made some tactical blunders.

Blunder #1: He didn't think to chain the doors of the theater.
Blunder #2: He stood at the front of the theater rather than the back.

With as much firepower as he had, both of those steps taken and he might have been able to kill everybody.

Something had to have been the stressor trigger for that guy. Huge assed student loan debt, drugs.....who knows. I do know that there's a propensity for coppy-cats and there are a lot of loner
grad students out of work and facing a mountain of student loans to pay off. I hate to think of what the future holds. I hope whatever copycatz there are out there, leave Colorado the fuck alone....they've seen enough tragedy for a lifetime. The media frenzy is not helping one single bit, even if they really do care as much as they'd have us believe between ads.

And there's yet to be the hard attacks on the 2nd ammendment. But, it's beginning now:
    http://hosted2.ap.org/APDEFAULT/3d2... Campaign/id-9d537161d11348789ee883a8534f8724

First off, this guy passed all the measures that are now in place. The only other thing that could have made a difference is the total ban on sales of firearms. In which case the perp would have found another avenue for destruction of innocent people's lives.

Let's not make this thread about gun rights.

It's relevant though. Those opposed to gun rights sure think it is.

I'm not entirely sure on that. Guy seems to have wanted a sense of grandeur after withdrawing from his doctorate program as evidenced by the fact that he didn't kill himself in the end, seemed ready to move on to another site and is lawyering up.

We've got plenty of other threads discussing it though, currently including the home intruder sign one. As far as the anti-gun groups currently rattling their sabers, speaking as a progressive liberal, they're wrong in their timing.

Found out a bit ago that one of the deceased victims was in a writing group of a friend of mine. It's surreal listening to the national media talk about the event and the city of Aurora. While parts are serene and truly "nice town America", the section where this took place is not the best. Holy God, just realized I was looking at apartments in the area about 9 months back.

Well frankly the thread should be about the story, and unfortunately in the national media it's turning into another guns rights battle. I'd rather it not be that way either, but it is what it is.

Probably just me being jaded. But i think people in general, are just making way too big of a deal about it. After seeing so much stuff. And reading about so much shit like this, girl school getting poisoned, then massacre in Syria. When i read about the shooting, i was just glad it was only 14 killed and the authorities caught the person.

It be pretty illogical to conclude that guns are to be blame. That person was some what smart, he could have easily used IED. Tools are never to be blame, its the user most of the time.

i love how youtubers profit off of the deaths just like the media.
on youtube trying to sell their "reporter skills" for job prosperity.

    sad world we live in.

It sadly is rare that I say this, but the Aurora PD did an amazing job in their response and apprehension of the suspect. The fact that only 12 were killed and 58 wounded is astounding.
