Thanks buddy, I'll be sitting in the waiting room in an hour. Something's got to change. It takes 30 minutes to shower: 10 minutes in the shower and 20 minutes fihting to get dressed. I got the snot scared out of me 2 nights ago. I got into a couhing spell, lost my cheetos and expelled at least 4 oz of green mucas. I thouht I was going to suffocate right at the kitchen sink. Then......sploosh!
    I'll update after the consultation.

Worse than COPD, way worse. Bronchiectasis. No cure, limited treatments. Not sure of any cancers yet. Waiting on getting in for catscans. The pulmonologist seems very capable. Instead of a standard consultation, I was in there for 2 whole hours taking tests.
I was surprised to find out that the bronchiectasis is caused by damage other than tobaco. That is it for one side of my lungs. 50 years of smoking is bound to have done something to my other side' When I lay on my left side I produce gray sputum the tasted like an ashtray. On my right side, copious amounts of yellow green. C'mon man! I knew of the independence of lung function but this was a surprise. I can imagine the internal mechanism. A bossy director saying; cig smoke on the left, toxic black mold on the right. Evidentially that's how it works. (minus the bossy director)

That sucks Wiskas. My Uncle had Bronchiectasis I was young but I remember how bad his mucus was. I hope one of the limited treatments can help you start feeling better.

Thanks Scrubbins. The pain is really bad at times. It's getting real hard to maintain a positive good mental attitude. What gives me strength is knowing that doing so, is like giving this thing the finger.
I haven't been contacted by the imaging lab yet. I'd really like to get that behind me. Not knowing is the worst part.

I'm sure if it was anything serious they would have called you by now instead of making you worry over this long weekend.

Ugh, really sorry to hear this Wiskas. I'm glad at least you were able to get a long session with the specialist. Getting harder and harder these days to find a decent chunk of time with the doctor. I hope they're able to come up with a treatment regimen that can help you manage this thing.

That's just it, I can't even get in to get a catscan done. I can't progress any further without one. Lots of medical services have 2 month waiting on most services in these parts. Kind of a medical desert.

Thanks for the kind words BBsmitz. The waiting and wondering is definitely the hard part.

At least the last two days have not been too bad. I even managed to sit on the mower and mow two acres. It took two days (2X2 hours), but I got it done and even got a bit of sunburn.

Yesterday my doctor informed me that the insurance denial for benefits on the CT scan was successfully appealed.
Yay! The best news I've had in months. As for the brochiectasis, some days are so bad that I can't move. I just went through three days like that. When I do start clearing my lung it's absolute torture but I feel better and can get around with O2. My spirits are up today. Keeping a positive mental attitude is really hard but helps tons.

Wow, this I know. Without it, it's way to easy to fall into dark thinking and depression.
Working on it keeps my brain occupied in a good way.
I contacted the Imaging Clinic and they haven't received the authorization for CT yet. I'm on a "don't call us, we'll call you" thingy. Like I'm actually going to be that guy. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I was really loud yesterday and guess what? I have a CT in 2 hours,. Thankfully, 2 1/2 years of not knowing may be
coming to an end. Then we can get on to whatever is next. I've made a lot of peace the last 2 1/2 years, I think I'm ready for whatever comes down the pike.

Thanks Scrubbins. I had the CT, now things can progress wherever they are going.

Edit: Since I can not do much more than sit in a chair and huff O2, I decided to buy a pre-built computer. It's only one of two I've bought pre-built. I've always got the parts and built them myself.
My last desktop went to crap on me in February. I've been on a slow core5 laptop since. Now, I've got a core7 12the gen, with a RTX 3080 12 GB, to play with. It comes with Win11 so I'll be installin my old 1TBssd and 2T game ssd and dual booting. Fathers day gift to me.

I don't know why I added this. Just trying to recapture the old days when we talked computers here....I guess. I find myself thinking a lot about the old days.

Enjoy the new computer. I've been playing with the idea of a prebuilt gaming rig for a few years now but never pull the trigger. I prefer console gaming.

I never really got into console gaming. The first game addiction I had was Tomb Raider1. Then came Half Life series.
So far dual booting has been problematic. Windows 11 plays havoc with my bluetooth drivers and Steam won't recognize my 2 TB game drive at all.
Re-downloading 1.85 TB of games and mods is not an option. I'll have to find a fix. Final conclusion: windows 11 is crap.

Slow internet @ 3gb/s and having to re-download most games. Steam won't recognize my 2TB ssd as a game drive. It pisses me off to no extent. Most games take up to 2 days to DL.
The way I'm feeling, I can't get too worked up, just isn't worth it. So I just let crap roll off my back. I'm still trying though. My head is so foggy most of the time, that I can't do complex thinking any more.
So most of the time it's "mind over matter: I don't mind, because it don't matter". I've got Horizon, Zero Dawn working and it keeps me occupied.

HZD is a fantastic game. I recommend Days Gone and The Last of Us remake when it drops in September.

Win11 has messed up all the file structures on drives that were migrated to new machine it seems.

Man, I hate to hear all the trouble you're having with Win 11. I was going to build a new machine so Win 11 would work , all the pieces I built mine with so many years ago won't support it. Now not too sure if I wanna deal with those kind of issues. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do with the equipment I have now. Let us know how you finally get it all working together.

So far lots of the steam fix was on their end. A stealth update created havoc to lots of players. My save game issue is now rectified....YAY!
I'm getting a 2tb m2 4th gen drive so I can have wiggle room for transitioning all my other steam games.
