I got my booster shot yesterday. The two original shots weren't all that bad, but this one gave me a wallop! My arm feels like someone's gorming around a rusty nail in it when I lift it over my head, or put any weight on it. I've got a red bullseye at the shot site, and I feel just generally achy and wrung-out.

What a way to start out the year.

I got COVID on the first. Even with the booster.

Sorry man, that's a bummer. My booster made me tired for about a day, but nothing as bad as yours. My wife's arm hurt for over a week though...

I've had hangovers that were worse than this. The one thing that gets me is the itchiness of my lungs. The congestion is moderately annoying.

I had the booster in early November, my wife got hers two weeks before I came down with it. So she's either asymptomatic or the booster is working.

I got my 2 phizers as soon as I could and got side effects both times. I then took the boost along with my flu vaccine......not recomended at all.
I was down for 3 days with the side effects.

Just getting over Omicron here, double vaxxed but missed my booster appointment. Finally feeling normalish on day 8 and really not wanting to go back to work on Monday.

My only issue with my second dose was a sore arm. The booster made me exhausted the following day but my arm was throbbing for days.

Both vax shots and a booster and I still got put in the hospital with Omicron.
I've been sick for weeks but managed to get monoclonal antibody treatment just on the outside edge of the 10 day treatment window.
With my emphysema it's a real good thing I didn't get delta even with full vax.
I'm back home but still iffy. The wife has 911 on speed dial.

    conspirator?

    Yay....negative test on Monday!
I've pretty much been sick since October. I couldn't even get in to see a doctor let alone a pulmonary specialist.
I had to quit smoking simply because I couldn't physically do it any longer. That was on 11/22/21. My breathing has steadily
gone to shit since. I thought it'd get a little tiny bit better.
Then add flu followed by omicron covid 19 (All, of which, I was vaccinated for.) and the result is not good.
The only reason I'm not dead is from being vax'd as I was (IMHO).
I did everything right, from wearing an N95 mask starting in November of 2020, to going through gallons of hand sanitizer and distancing 20+ feet,
getting all available vaccines and not going anywhere or doing anything right up until today.
I haven't done any kind of work in 2 months. I am able to walk down to the mail box and back now (1/4 mile and it takes 20 minutes). I try real hard to "force"
myself to feel better. No success on that yet. ;)

Dang Wiskas, that’s brutal. So much for randomly logging in to see how folks are doing. I’ll be thinking about ya, but mostly impure thoughts.;)

Yeah, my wife and I got the ‘rona back in Feb ‘21 from our former roommate RIGHT before we were eligible for the vaccine. For me it was mostly just brain fog and congestion, but for my wife it was waaaay worse, and her sense of taste/smell is just starting to get back to normal. Of course the roommate was totally fine, being a fit lil 22yr old, but that’s a story for another thread, lol.

Wow! It's great to hear from Sparky!
Whatever the cause/blame, this is not what I had in mind for retirement. I can't even go fishing or hunting. I did manage to get awesome pics last deer and elk season. I hunted with my camera both the last 2 years.

This is all stuff that was present before covid was even a thing. Omicron just about killed me. Thanks to the pandemic, I've not been able to get any
form of medical treatment or exam until now. If you didn't have covid, the hospitals would not do squat for you.
So, emphysema and possible cancers are now 2 1/2 years more advanced and untreated. It's still nearly impossible to find a pulmonary specialist....still waiting.
Imaging will be another hurdle once I see a specialist.
On the bright side....I decided to say piss on it. I strapped on the oxygen tank and went grocery shopping without a mask on Sunday. The first time I went anywhere
without one since November of 2019. I felt naked.

is Oregon still in masks or just being cautious?
Omicron was awful. Thankfully I was just bedridden but mom ended up hospitalized for a bit.

hope they can get your stuff scheduled asap!

Masks are optional in Oregon as of March 31.

I just got the results of my lung function testing.....not good. Major obstruction, major air entrapment and all numbers are 45-50% below normal amounts. All that I could have told any doctor without having to spend the 2200 dollars for the lung function testing. I haven't worked since the first week of Feb. My deductible for that $2200 charge was $680 and it really hurt financially. But it was necessary to get the ball rolling and get into a pulmonary specialist. I should hear from the specialist next week.
The pulmonary medical supply company really set me up big time! I have a dozen oxygen cylinders and a nice new home oxygen concentrator. It's hard to get used to packing a portable cylinder on my back in public.
I don't mind saying that I'm a bit scared. Not about passing, but about getting slowly carved up by surgeons. We'll see.

Well Hans....I'm one step closer to that surgery. I finally got and appointment with a pulmonary specialist. I see him on the 25th.
I feel like hammered shit all the time. I'm ready for something to change...anything.
I've aged 10 years this year alone.

20220423_155754.jpg I certainly didn't think about reaching this age of feeling how I do.
