Rumsfeld: Controversial commander - CNN.com
Olbermann is going to have fun with this...
and they replaced him with the former cheif of the CIA.
I couldn’t have gotten much worse, but I’d be reluctant to call that an improvement.
Shabbaz is the one w/ the Rumsfeld avatar, right? I wanna hear his opinion.
edit: Oops. This is Cr@cKpiPe tE@sEr noOb!. I wasnt aware I was under my gf's account.
Even I have to say good riddance. If for no other reason than to get a fresh perspective on the debacle.
EDIT: I doubt this is how he wanted to end his career.
I never had a problem with him.
I liked him.
i think he was forced out more then retired.
LOL oh man.
Not sure if this will help. Is it possible to make things better in Iraq? It's a big mess but what are the solution(s)? I'm not putting the entire blame on Rumsy and hate to see someone leave like this.
Sad to see him go. But atleast now with Rumsfeld gone and the Democrats in control of Congress all of society's problems should be fixed.
How exactly do you guys define failure?
I would like to see if you guys hold the dems to the same standard you hold rumsfeld after two years.
The war in iraq was pretty much a failure.
It's a tough job, I wouldn't want it. But for political reasons alone Rumsfeld needed to leave a long time ago. Hell, had they done this a few days before the election it might have made a difference for the Republicans.
Repubs, dems....it's not going to make a difference. I like how the focus was taken off of congress and put on the war. The war is out of hand because congress hasn't done it's job and is ineffective in bringing about possitive change for the country. You guys and gals actually buying into the BS? The war, the economy, the immigration issues.....all just diversion tactics.Change may happen, but I seriously doubt that it'll amount to "possitive change". The real issues are: "why can't congress be effective?"and "where is blatant refusal to adhere to the will of 'the people' coming from?" Things are so messed up because 'the people' of this country have become arogant, gullible and too lazy to think/act for themselves. people would rather let the media do the thinking and tend to believe words they see and hear on TV and ignore the actions that are real.
My .02 -
Large corporations give roughly equal money to both political parties. If you think that Democrats are immune to lobbyists' influence you are living in a fantasy world. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
You've got that correct. Poeple blame the dems, or the repubs....LOL. 'they love it when a plan comes together.
nice A-Team reference wiskas.
A catalog of Rumsfeld's biggest blunders. - By Phillip Carter - Slate Magazine
This guy has a pretty big hate-on for Rumsfeld and its mostly just opinion with links to other articles to back him up but I thought it was fitting.
Thats part of the problem right there. Corporations should have no say in government. Basically it gives the people that are in control of a corporation more say than those of a standard citizen and no vote/influence should mean more than anyone elses.
And both republicans and democrats alike are guilty of caving into outside pressures. I'll be keeping an eye on this congress and if they suck too, I'll vote them out again!
cant help those that wont help themselves
He who has the gold has always made the rules.
Thought I would post this here instead of making a new thread.
And where was this group of rights activists when there were televised beheadings?
What really happened? Maybe he got a better job offer:
