In most states, radar DETECTORS are not illegal. It's the devices that scramble or screw up Laser and Radar detectors that are typically illegal.

Now heres a question for ya. Lets say someone was speeding, maybe 10-15 over. Would you make your decision to ticket them basied on if they had a radar detecyor or not? Just wondering.

BTW. I have a Whistler Laser/Radar Detector and its awesome.

No not at all. It obviously didn't work now did it. I based all of my tickets on their behavior.

Well if you used laser the detectors are pretty much useless because when you get hit by laser theres no chance of slowing down your already nailed.

On the other hand if a cop was just sitting there not shooting active radar and just looking for speeders and then shooting them, you dont really have a chance either. Thats just why I was wondering.

If the speed is excessive then yes, I would write them up. Would I put 100+ on the site? As I said earlier, it depends on their demeanor and, their record as well. Is this their first citation in 5-10 years or, is it the third in 2 years?

I call "Bullshit" on Nidex for a couple of reasons. LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Your break foot is not faster than the speed of light. You didn't out do the officer. Most likely, your car wasn't painted or lased. However if it was, it's possible the officer chose not to go after you for whatever reason. Trust me...........you did not defy a laser designation.

when i used to work for the courthouse the cops i talked to said they didnt always have their laser on when aiming it at people most of the time, or if they did it wasnt to catch speeders. They just did it to slow people down. That was half the fun of it for them, seeing dumbasses like nidex come over a hill or around a corner at 100mph and watch them slam on their breaks.
If they caught you putting on your breaks as you passed by them then they might pull you over and ask you to see if you admit to speeding, but could only give out "warnings".

You can call bullshit all you want, I was doing 105 in the left lane going north on I-39 and the detector went off, I saw him at the top of the bridge, slammed the brakes, got off on the next exit, parked and he never moved.

Like I said, he chose to not come after you than. Science explains why he could have owned you.

tell me what you would do if you pulled some one over for a ricer exhaust, and they said that the person before them put the fart cannon on there. Would you write them a ticket for the fart cannon.

Probably. They had a choice of driving it or not driving it. Pretty simple don't you think?

When you say a "ricer exhaust" do you mean illegally loud? I don't recall pulling anyone over for loud exhaust in my entire career to be truthfull.
