Standard politics, it amounts to a threat of intervention/rhetoric...
...but what better timing than when everyone is looking the other direction (westward in pacific). A person just has to take advantage of those opportune moments.

By the time they get around to doing anything, like the genocide in Rwanda, it will already be all over... As I said before, Egypt was really a special case, as was Tunesia before it. All other protesters are getting their asses handed to them. In bloody chunks.

Truth to tell, I'm waiting for similar riot police action in Wisconsin... :)

Who didn't see this coming? Frankly I was kinda glad the administration was holding back and letting the French froth and carry on about it. As much shit as they gave us about Iraq, the situation in Libya is very, very similar.

You saw that too? The politics of late is all most comical. It's like a worn out sitcom where the writers can't think of anything new to inject so they re-do old crap and try to act like it's new crap.

Hell the Brits are in on this and we aren't? What's that tell you about our current administration. Didn't we kill Khadfi's son like 15 years ago...missing him unfortunately. Why is our Pres going to the U.N about this. Just do what has to be done.

I don't care for Obama, but I was OK will him holding back on this a little. All the venom and hate towards us for removing Saddam, and now they're clamoring for us to intervene in Libya? You can't have it both ways, we're the world police or we aren't.

Exclude Italy, England, and Spain from that. They supported us, and even sent troops. Germany isn't going along with this Libya adventurism, so at least they're consistent! The only one with egg on their face is FRANCE! Vive La Freedom Fries! ;)

Well the rhetoric is heating up, Obama is saying now that Libya needs to comply or face "military action". Here we go again...

because we don't have enough wars or military action in the middle east already.

Ranger, if you have to go I hope you stay safe man.

... I think I'd prefer walking into the Dai-icchi nuclear plant without any protection, and swim laps in the boiling water of the containment pools, than to get further mixed up in the confused, multifaceted, incestuously intertwined problems of the Middle East. The Balkans problems that started World War I were a cakewalk in comparison.

Does anybody remember Khadafi taking credit for killing all those Americans with a bomb in an aircraft over Scotland? Comparing how we react to this vs. Egypt is ridiculous? We should bomb the rubble when it comes to his palaces and such and make sure we kill him this time! Simple enough for ya. FUCK the U.N.!

Apparently, we will be acting as "support and assistance" for the French and British forces this time around. Translated, that means we will be doing AWACS air-traffic-control, and in-flight refueling (with our aging fleet of tankers, that STILL don't have a replacement being cranked out), and possibly cruise-missiles and maybe drones-with-attitude... :)

Nothing beats fighting your wars from an office in Las Vegas!

Tomahawk cruise missiles are landing in Tripoli and Misrata.

Does Congress need to OK this? Have they?

Congress hasn't declared war since WW2 nor pre-approved military action.

No Delta wing, and obvious tail section stabilators, means not a Mirage.
