The COD4 MP Beta rocks. Been playing it for quite some time now, its very fun. It has its faults and isnt perfect, but it really shines overall and is a game I will definitely be playing. At least you aren't being so closed minded that you would refuse to play a good game just because another good game looks better to you. I will be playing Halo 3 MP online for years down the road, I honestly doubt any game can take over the kind of fun and enjoyment I have had with the game. My brother and I both have committed to playing the game, its not odd though, since we played Halo 1 and 2 MP online and off for years.
Not everyone likes playing FPSs with sticks and controllers, I totally understand that. But I still think Halo 1 was an incredible game. from Halo 3:
Also, Please us this thread for Halo 3 discussion, not talking about how you don't like Halo. Start a new thread for that... Thanks.
I play all kinds of Xbox and 360 games, I haven't bought a PC game in forever. It's just not that great of a multiplayer experience. I had a lot of fun with the single player, but the multiplayer is a couple notches below Shadowrun even, which is saying a lot.
It had an engaging storyline that (while not totally original) was very well done. It didn't try any of that "Oh look! It's the evil G-Man! Is this real? Is it not? Let's not have a story at all and hide it behind mystery!!!" As for the whole hero thing... I don't know Half Life 2 just didn't do it for me. You don't know what Freeman's motivation is, why he fights, namely because he doesn't speak. On an unrelated note, Halo easily has the best music composed for a game in recent memory. There's no way you can contest that. This is really the crux of it. I guess I can understand you guys hating Halo though. The reputation precedes it and I imagine it's much like my hatred for WoW. If it makes you PC guys feel any better, my favorite FPS is still Counterstrike/CS:S, even though I haven't played it in over a year, due to the fact that I'd cease to function as a productive member of society. MI had to give away my copy of HL2 (I bought it for Counterstrike and the mods!!!), so I wouldn't play it. And to the guy above me: Shadowrun could have been amazing, had it had a little depth to it. I mean, $60 for just multiplayer (and basically the same gametype every round)?! PS: Halo 3 is still going to be pretty amazing, haters. PSS: Half Life 2 sucks so much ass that it's utterly impossible for me to describe it in words. /trollfeed
I gave Halo2 a try and just couldn't get into it. The controls felt clunky. I'm a real stickler for good controls, and at the time, I was also playing farcry and got spoiled. I'll give it a whirl someday, just out of curiosity.
Those pictures also reminded me that I love the vehicles in Halo the most. They control how they look like they should. ... and I can totally understand that Wiskas, playing FarCry myself.
I never liked Halo for the single player. Never owned an Xbox. I have Halo PC, I've played Halo 2 multiplayer a bunch of times. I would get Halo 2 PC if it didn't require Vista (didn't someone say they were able to get a copy that worked on XP?). Halo PC multiplayer was the shit. I've spent so much time fighting people I don't know and having a great time doing it. The single player was interesting, but I never finished it.
One thing's for sure. The single player campaign seems to have much, much more polished graphics than multiplayer.
Having played it almost for about 5 hours now I can say that it is more of the same. If you like Halo 1 and 2 you will like 3.
Unless you go in the morning to a store that doesnt take pre-orders... like kmart or wally world or something
Better than hanging outside an EB/Gamestop, for sure. Just find a 24 hour Wal-Mart, and go chill in the Electronics dept before midnight. Once it hits midnight, as the clerk or manager to haul ass to the backroom and get Halo 3.
My one friend up in Jersey is the biggest Halo fan I've ever met.. he hasn't finished the game yet (actually, probably less than half way) but he said it hasn't lived up the hype 'so far'. Pretty crazy hearing that from him. Anyway: "Xbox 360 Exclusive "Halo 3" Registers Biggest Day in US Entertainment History with $170 Million in Sales"
I really enjoyed it. So far I have played through the beginning of the game to like level 5 3 times. Once myself, and two times in coop. I finished the game in coop though. The game really reminded me of halo for the last two levels, which I liked, a lot!
