I had just washed her 2 days before. Nearly got stuck navigating through a muddy private road. I was bottoming out pretty badly but the alternative was having to stop in front of some shotgun wielding rednecks.

I dunno.....for some reason, they always reminded me of an old man's car.
  17. That is the second Mercedes 190 I've bought in my not so long driving career.

I know what you mean. I was looking for the even more old man car; The Mercedes 300TD diesel wagon. But they're impossible to find in good shape in this area. My current Mercedes is the fastest vehicle I've owned, putting out a whopping 160HP... It's a speed demon.

I found pics of my old Mercedes, and my truck just after it.

I know what you mean about German diesels. I'd like to get my hands on a VW rabbit diesel pickup, but they too, are very rare and hard to find. One of the old-old pre 60's diesel Mercedes would be a great project car.

I like that 190E, I'd love to have one if...
    a) the ones up here (snow/salt) weren't in horrible shape
    b) they weren't hard to find parts for
    c) they weren't so damn unreliable
  21. Nidex, I had good luck with my last one. The only reason I got rid of it was 'cause I blew the tranny by power shifting it too much/ offroading the fuck out of it. And at the time didn't have the tools or knowledge to replace or fix it. The engine still ran like fucking champion when I sold the beast.

Last time i checked 1991 was 20 years ago lol, and LOL on the special features, dont even pos cars come with that?
  24. I should have listed the two opposing special features they have.
The truck has A/C but no heat
The car has Heat but no A/C
I have no choice on summer/winter vehicles now. NOTE: even California winters suck when you have no heat.
