Haven't done this in a few months, thought it might be interesting. I have a much more up-to-date pic that I can toss up here now.

Here's me this past weekend. I had the same look of puzzlement in the morning when I asked myself "Whoa...what happened last night?"

I check the trash everyday. mainly perm mag brushless motors and magnetrons. I can't help but pick up other stuff that looks like I can McGuyver into something. i hooked that same motor in the vid up to a homemade rectifier and capacitor array and managed a sustained 22 volt output. running 6 hooked up in delta and i should be able to have 22 volt, 3amp power for charging with.
Remembwer folks, if you see a bright flash, duck and cover!:-D "IDB....I think so!"

wiskas: You're totally into that stuff. A couple years ago, me and a friend started reading into so called free energy, or energy that is free for the taking. We constructed a decent size water wheel which we had plans to drive a car alternator. Lack of ambition and proper sized parts brought the project to a halt. The water wheel is location dependent for sure, but even a run-off ditch can be drawn from.

The problem we ran into was finding a location with enough head, as well as the fact the alternator we chose required too much torque to spin given our wheel size. The 100A alternator could consume up to ~12hp to give max output.

I then found a small brushed 12VDC motor from an old printer, not brushless so eventually it would wear out. But it was fairly easy to obtain 14V by turning it with a drill.

One of these days i will pick that project up again.

All I have as of now is one small 1W solar panel which quite happily keeps my quad battery charged when i'm not riding it.

btw I'm sure you know, but a bridge rectifier made of 4 diodes is cheap, but very inefficient. THere must be a simple converter circuit that the average guy could whip up.

Great video wiskas. I love the ingenuity. Man, I'd love to grab a coffee with you and pick your brain about stuff.

You weren't lying, that is awesome. And cool sweatshirt! If I didn't see it on you I'd copy it. Will's shirt is good, too.

Wiskas, you talk so much tech over my head in that video... but it's pretty neat seeing you fiddle around all these gadgets like a mad scientist.
