So, does anyone even have 56k anymore? I'm thinking we have less than 5 on this forum.

Which leads me to believe that warning people about threads having pictures has become useless.

so, does anyone even use 56k anymore?

It's been so long since dialup. I've just now gotten over the trauma.....6 years later.

I've had cable for like 4 years now, no way in hell I would even bother using the internet if I had 56k.

Man, I was at Staples the other day, you can still spend $50 for a modem, $100 for the external. I don't like the idea of spending money for dialup ;)

I've had cable since November of 2005. Cable wasn't (and still isn't) available at my old home. We coudln't get DSL, Cable, or even damned satalite internet... Anyway, I've definately made up for not having broadband by downloading plenty. 8)

my parents can only get dialup...it connects at about 21kbps...it sucked living with them until i was 20...

i'm 22 now, so i've only had broadband for 2 years...i don't see how i can live without it...it really does change how you use the internet

Yea some people dont have high speed available in there area.. sucks to be them.

I've been with cable since 02 I believe. Just love it.
  23. I got cable in late '03, stopped paying for it in '04(thanks to tcniso, I was still using it, minus payment). Then switched to Verizon DSL cheapo edition 3.0/512 in '05.

If I was to ever be out of broadband, I'd probably rebuild my wifi equipment and just steal it. I can't live on dial up.

Ditched dial-up about... has to be at least 7 or 8 years ago now

Too bad broadband sucks these days... I remember my @home was completely unrestricted and nobody else in my neighborhood had it... I was getting 10-12mbps off of ftp.cdrom.com
