Well the FedEx guy showed up today. It feels like Christmas. :D

    640GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
    640GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
    ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB
    One 18x SuperDrive
    Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse
Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) and User's Guide
Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter
    Country Kit

    (2) Apple LED Cinema Display (24" flat panel)
    Part Number: MB382LL/A

    (1) Final Cut Studio 2
    Part Number: MA886Z/A

    (1) AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac Pro (w/or w/o Display) - Auto-enroll
    Part Number: S3135LL/A

    (1) ATI Radeon HD 4870 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro (Early 2009 or Early 2008)

I had to make a harness that would tap power from the extra optical drive SATA connector and convert it into two 6-pin PCI-E connectors since splitting the PCI-E bus can only handle 300 watts. One Radeon pulls over 160 watts under stress.

Thanks guys. I was seriosly stressed about the 2nd video card up unti I opened up the Tower and saw that it would work. Otherwise I was gonna have to return the card and wait some more.

Yeah I agree. This one will probably get integrated into my PS3 (bluetooth) when I pick up the FCP editor's keyboard. I didn't realize when I ordered it that it wasn't a full kb. I saw wireless and clicked... :(

Nice job on the cable work. Isn't Fry's awesome for that kind of shit? I mean where else can you get that stuff. My discount would have probably knocked the price down to like $15, only real (small) benefit of working there...

Thanks. I really went for form-over- function there. I may clean it up asthetically in the future since it looks like I'll be in there agai soon.

Yeah, Fry's saved my ass from having to order stuff and having 3 days of delay. It's nice to have a store you can go to and actually look at the stuff in person, holding it in your hand. I had no idea what kind of SATA connector I needed (since I didn't have the box in hand) so I grabbed all 4. :)

Interesting you brought that up... That story, next month. :D

(There's another 4 car garage on the opposite side of the house btw. ;) No cars in it yet. Just boxes of junk). LOL

Here's a AVCHD (1080P) to Prores 422 to quicktime transcode which took at most 2 seconds (1 min 30 sec clip).

CPU was 97% idle LOL. Not even a flinch. :)

    Same clip..

    This time FCP to Compressor

AVCHD to Prores422 to DVCPRO HD 1080i 50 (8 seconds)

    :D

BTW in the activity monitor it shows 316.6% CPU usage. This is 100% = 1 core. 79.7% Idle OMG. LOL

I scored 198 or something on xbench. I'll do it agai. Alot of those guys are running RAID 0 and ramdisks so its not very practical but they get up to 300. Gimmie a sec...

Now you got me curious into migrating my RAID 5 to encompass my System disk and running raid 0 for the hell of it (xbench). I'll do it agian when I upgrade the drives to 15K SAS (old drives going to external array) and get a QuadroFX 5800/ AJA Kona :)

    LOL@ HP mini. :)
