ya so ever since I started the Boeing job, I haven't played WoW at all. several reasons for that I"m sure, part of it is that I am working out everyday and that takes up a lot of time. didn't really have a desire to play either. so, last week, I canceled my account. feels good! i still technically have it until the end of the month but I haven't played it. I may sell it or just give all my gear to my other friends.

haha I bought the 15 day trial. It was fun, but I really really can't justify paying 20+ dollars for the game, and 15 bucks a month.

Why pay so much, when I can get the same thing from Oblivion or another title? Sure it's not the same game...but it accomplishes the same thing: wasting time playing video games.

bingo. i liked WoW but no matter what, the whole point was to level your character. that takes a lot of time. I think it takes away from the actual game play. I wish there wasn't any character levels, and you just played. I think that would be a lot more fun and people wouldn't feel pressured to play for hours and hours on end.

ya I thought about that. thing is, I like playing through all the quests, I just wish it wasn't leveled. maybe it's just a personal thing with me. other games, I play to have fun and just progress but I don't feel pressured to play every waking moment like I did with WoW. to me, a lot of the fun was taken away from WoW when always worrying about leveling the character. i decided not to do glide 'cause of the off chance that my account get banned. not that it matters now of course. i suppose I could glide it and then just run instances and dungeons all day lol. but hey, I'm saving $15 a month now so that's cool with me.

not for everybody. i'm sure sevendust has leveled himself from 1-69 before. but after even once, it's boring to do the same thing again and again. but a lot of people just want to be 70 so they can run the dungeons.

I don't play ANY of these games, mostly because I'm afraid that if I do then I'll get all wrapped up in them and become one of those people that only sees daylight when they HAVE to work outside or to let the pizza guy in......... I only play Command n Conquer and Unreal Tournament....

I played wow to 60 twice before the expansion came out then quit.

Two of my friends have recently relapsed and I barely see them again. I don't know why they would start up after we quit and realized how much time we had wasted. I would rather they started doing hard drugs. WoW gets a hold of people so bad sometimes.

Welcome back to real life Chainblade.

Thankfully, I never started WoW. One of my friends plays WoW and that is all he does. His wife pretty much can't stand him anymore.

I play.. a lot. But I also now balance that with work/school/responsibilities. And I'm single, so it's not like I'm neglecting a spouse, thank God.

I have two 70s and two 60s, all fully played out by me, no help through 3rd party programs or other people. The game is bending over to casuals more and more each patch, so things aren't as "hard" or time consuming as they used to be, such as leveling and gearing up. Like I said in a previous thread, I leveled my Druid post-2.3 and did 1-60 in 4 days /played, and 60-70 in 3 days /played for a total of 7 days and change.

The reality is, if you really liked the game when you were playing it, then you're never an ex-WoW player if you quit. You're a WoW player not playing at the time. :) The game is addicting for a reason. Minus the blatant ways they made the game addictive, it's actually quite an amazing game, and has a huge subscription base to back that up.

My nephew quit, but WOW knows how to drag you back, kicking and screaming, so he's back to playing again.

Welcome to the Hotel World of Warcraft! It is programmed to receive! You can check out anytime you like BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE!!!

I have drooled over but somehow avoided EverQuest and WOW. I love RPGs, but I just don't have the time that I know would be required for a MMORPG. I can play Morrowind and Oblivion at my leisure.

The best way to quit WoW is to throw away the CDs then change all your account information so even you can't even retrieve it. If you haven't done this, you really haven't quit WoW.

Funny you mention that. I thought about asking my gf to change my password to some random mess, write it down and throw it away so she can forget it too.

    hmmm....

lmao. i didn't think i was too addicted. I only played it AFTER I finished my work, chores around the house, entertaining my g/f, etc. I usually only played it on my weekends when my g/f wasn't home so I'd play it for many hours. But I just realized it's just not worth it. It's funny because I have/had my own guild and I just left. my friend and 2nd in command keeps asking me to play and I havent.

Meh, I'm far into Hyjal/BT.. You have to agree, it would be retarded to just up and quit now. I've worked hard to get where I am, and this is really where the fun of the game is.

I will take a few months break before Wrath of the Lich King, though. That's for sure.
