yea, i can def see you losing weight and muscle over there.. what calorie/protein rich foods are over there? and youre going to be burning calories like crazy
Ugh, 2:13am, good party. As for food, I think it will be fairly easy to find meat dishes (mostly chicken?) with rice or noodles, that will probably be my most reliable source of protein.
Chin-ups and burpee's will give you a decent full body workout to help reduce muscle loss. Curling/overhead tricep extensions using your travel bag could help too.
So I landed in Seoul, South Korea about an hour ago. I have an overnight layover, and will just sleep in a chair. In the morning, I catch my flight to the Philippines. This airport is really empty for only being like 8pm... Oh, and there is a new post on my blog about getting ready to leave
hooray! more fun stuff to read about. Hey, if your blog is extra awsm, maybe travel channel will contact you for a show lol
lol we're gonna see fiddy eating raw sewage worms and wild human brains for delicacy on the travel channel food shows. this is going to be awesome.
Well folks, posting from Manila now. New blog post as well, check it out Ugh, my feet hurt, my back hurts, I'm nasty from days of travel and sticky air, I need some rest! Off to a great start though
The blog is amazing and luring already! Something tells me fiddy isnt coming back because its obvious he's going to find adventure after adventure. It could be endless, lol. Bang some prostitutes! Those 5 year olds are probably selling their sisters
You'd probably like "Adobo" (chicken or pork), "Panset" (rice noodles with pork and vegetables), fried Tilapia (or other fish) and/or "Lumpia" (Filipino eggrolls). The ethnic stuff is pretty weird and needs an acquired taste.
I guess Chinese food in Venezuela is really Filipino or something, because we call Chinese eggrolls lumpias (which are delicious, BTW). And adobo is what we use to season meats. Great for grilling! If you're not picky with food and don't mind trying new things, Southeast Asia must be gastronomic heaven.
Looking good so far! I'm totally jealous. Not sure I'd want to do it on my own though, I'd probably take Liz with me.
No you're correct. That is the real Chinese name for "eggroll". It's actually lunpia but became lumpia. The Filipino version kept the name while the west decided to go with "eggroll". It is a bit different though in taste. Not much but I think we do it better . Adobo is latin for marinade, seasoning or sauce (wiki). So you're reading "seasoning" on that bottle (I have some too). In the case of the dish, it means all three. It is heavy in garlic, onion, soy sauce, vinegar, bay leaf and natural chicken/pork juices... mmm my mouth is watering now. Always served on a bed of sticky white rice.
Thanks, Lurker; that clears it up! So, Fiddy... have you eaten any "wild human brains" yet? Did you have to shoot them yourself?
Two new posts up, including this picture: and this: Things are going great, my new travel partners are fantastic (two sisters from South Africa) and it's nice to be out of the city. However, I think I may be having some 'digestive issues' right now
