Yeah, I played and went through Half-Life 2 three times and never got bored of it. It has one of the highest replay values for a FPS Single player game.
Halo was overrated for the PC crowd, but it was pretty good for those poor Console kiddies. It somehow went well with those oversized controllers the XBox originally shipped with. That's not saying much though... For me, Doom 3 was a huge disappointment. I was hoping for something far more "Doom-Classic" than it turned out to be. ID just doesn't know how to make decent monsters in 3D, or put any sort of decent color in their drab environments. Color is one of the things that the original Doom had going for it, that all ID's subsequent titles lacked, with the exception of Quake 3.
I am preparing myself for flaming but definatly the most over rated piece of crap game I can remember palying is: OBLIVION Man this game is just no fun. Seriously.
I can see why some people wouldn't like it. It's an RPG and not everyone likes them. The game has a somewhat steep learning curve. If you can get past that and take the time to explore the game, you realize how open-ended it truly is.
Played it recently? I picked it up about 2 months ago and i'm playing on Mistmoore... I like it. Maybe i'm just a sucker but anything to get back that eq1 nostalgia from when I was a youngin hehe
I played it when it first came out for a while. Just not as good as the first one. WoW>EQ2, easily. I am in LOVE with EQ1. If they could make the game the same, just a whole new place to play starting from level 1 again, it would be much better.
i get the feeling im going to have to pick up wow very soon...man this sucks. btw, a while back i would have said Halo...but me and my buddy spent last summer playing coop like everyday. so I say being one of very very few console coop fps's ruins its over-ratedness. id say maybe the newer zelda games? i dunno I cant think of anygame lately. how about a console instead. the gamecube. it was so cool "Lookit, there are four controller ports, and its soo small, check out melee!" and then that was the last good game to come out specifically for it. I cant think of one game i actually wanted to play, that was only for gamecube.
I can't count the number of hours I've sunk into Super Smash Brothers Melee. My and my buddies play that religiously. But on the whole, I'd agree (about the gamecube).

*in Street Fighter 2 announcer's voice* YOU WIN! */END VOICE* seriously...The Halo series was a college fad carried by stoners and people who haven't tasted real FPS action on the PC. needless to day, my pick is the same as djmihow's.
I agree that Halo is way too overrated But still, it's now on par on my list, sharing the place with Doom3. The hype before the actual release made me go postal on so many occasions hehe
