once a giant creeps into the front door, all hell breaks loose.

but to be honest, facebook went down the drain when they started adding "applications"
i can barely see fav movies or a persons wall thanks to the stacks upon stacks of applications.. wtf

Yeah, I definitely agree with you. I liked Facebook when it first came out, it had a clean, uniform look so you could find all that information easily. Letting in all the old and really young people changed Facebook a lot too! It was nice being able to put up pictures from ridiculous parties without worrying about potential employers seeing them.

It's still not quite as bad as MySpace, but it's definitely getting there.

Not in the slightest, but just owning that small percentage means MSFT gets access to all their user data and infrastructure. That alone is worth more to MSFT than the company itself.

    From the article:
Conventional valuations don't apply here. Microsoft is paying for the potential ad revenue and customer base, not the IP. They probably won't see a return even on this money for 4-5 years. You can bet your stinkhole that one of the provisions of the agreement bars Google or Yahoo from making any investments in to the company either. In essence they have also paid to keep their largest advertising competitors out of the business.

$2, maybe $3 billion TOPS for the whole thing. If this thing was worth anywhere near $15 billion, I could guarantee it would be IPO'd yesterday.

Still, I'll take Microsoft over NewsCorp any day.

At least all the fb profiles can still only be white with blue text. ugh.

    You said it.

I haven't seen any NewsCorp subliminal messages on Myspace yet, but I'm waiting to get that friend request from Bill O'Reilly.

Some of the first places "big brother" looks, is on Myspace and Facebook...
...this place even shows up on their radar (from personal experience) when a detective walks up to you and calls you by your avatar, it kinda sux.

Those pix I posted of the 'crym seen', I was aproached the next day at work,
by detectives asking if I knew anything about the incident......they recognized my truck. I can see their point and motive for asking, but it still felt strange. Since then they have arrested the alledged perp on that matter. I'd like to know what search engine they get to use....
    ....it looks to be awesome.
