Well...if McCain gets in, she's definitely impeachment material. "I did not have sexual relations with my VP. I just simply told her to speak in the mic a little more." :D

Wow, this is a weird VP pick. Does McCain have Democrat operatives in his campaign making these decisions? This is quite stunning to behold.

While I (and 99% of Americans) know very little (or nothing) about her, what I've heard so far makes her sound like a better Republican than most. Sure she is hardcore social conservative, but it does seem like she has done a fair bit in a rather short period of time cleaning up Alaska politics. Interesting choice.

She's a female Huckabee who had her former brother-in-law fired.

I don't care who he chose as a running mate. It doesn't change the fact that McCain is a blundering idiot that reminds me so much of Bush Jr. that I absolutely hate him.

Phant0m51, is there anything specific about his policies that you don't like?

The war, his views on tax cuts and his definition of "middle class" are mostly all I need to know. He's a textbook neoconservative, with nothing more or less to offer than Bush. We need real change, John McCain will not bring that change to the table.

Or maybe this will energize her even more for the Democratic party because now she has more competition. Do you honestly think she will let the Republicans take her people away from her?

Be fair, post the other commentary in favor of Palin too.

I don't think we should be in Iraq anymore, although I did agree with us invading. Tensions with Iran and Russia need somebody to look at it without thinking war is a viable option, more of a last resort. Everything McCain says shows (to me, at least) that he's willing to start wars. I don't like that at all.

He also has no sympathy for the middle class. Oil companies are getting tax breaks every year, making billions of dollars of profit per quarter, and us in the middle class have to suffer with no tax relief. How does he expect us to keep the economy going if we can't afford basic commodities like Gas?

That's not to say that I agree with Obama on everything, in fact I don't. I just think he's the better candidate vs. McCain.

If anything that I've said is wrong, please tell me. I'd rather get all my facts straight before voting time. I heard part of Obama's speech, and he mentioned that McCain voted 90% of the same bills that Bush agreed on. Anybody know what % of bills that Obama and Bush agreed on?

Considering she is anti abortion and pro gun and pro teaching creationism in schools I doubt very few of clintons supporters would "defect".

If I was a mccain supporter though, I'd probably be happy with the pick for the same reasons mccain picked her in the first place, she is willing to stand up to her own party.

    VPILF....Yessss!
I can't say I know much about her at all. She's a hawtty for sure, but as for political clout? My gut feeling is along the lines of this becoming an even more rediculous election.
And you guys would be surprised how many women were Hillary supporters solely for the fact Hillary was female. I beleive my wife may even jump ship on Obama now just because of that move on McCain's part and it was all IU heard about from women yesterday. Shrewd move by McC. My vote is unchanged, but the Lez and fem vote definately took a turn. BTW: I'd hittit.

I suddenly have this image, of McCain pimping his VP for votes... Getting the all important horny young male vote...

For a $5,000 contribution to the campaign, McCain will sent Palit to... "explain"... why you should vote for McCain, using, er, rousing oratory...

People do that regardless of any outcome. Remember the "I voted for <insert name> don't blame me" bumper stickers? We're fucked with either candidate.

Just throwing this out there......doesn't anyone realize that Obama is a Socialist? I mean seriously. This is why I WILL NOT vote for him. He's a pinko-commie for shit's sake! I am not a McCain fan but, he's got my vote for sure because I refuse to waist it on someone like Barr. I like him but it would be a waste of a vote. If only Keyes had the money backing him or if Gingrich would have ran..........oh baby!
