That was geared towards bigwill.
He's a member of the senate and probably the most important vote of the last 30 years is going down right now. Isn't it his fucking job to be there?
Ooops, my bad.
It is pretty serious and they both should probably be there, even if they have no impact.
Great...they can save your economy, only to fuck it up later.
Aren't I just the optimist.
I just hope that after all of this hype, neither of them just votes "Present."
Probably more of a realist.
McCain really pissed Letterman off by canceling his appearance at the last minute today.
YouTube - David Letterman Reacts to John McCain Suspending Campaign
This is a McCain PR act through and through. He's taken a beating in the past few weeks on the economy and now he's trying to turn it around and show that he's actually helping things out. There's hundreds of people already working things out there and he's not going to be the savior that finally gets things passed. Not to mention he was part of the Keating 5, not exactly someone who I want to have a hand in fixing the economy.
And canceling the debate? Please, if you're president you need to be able to multitask, it's part of the freaking job. Scuttlebutt is that he wants the foreign policy debate, one of the few where he's got a leg up on Obama, to not be on a Friday so people will actually watch it.
I agree that this is a PR stunt and it's brilliant. He's going to show up in D.C. on a white horse bringing the republicans with him to alter this bill. He's going to look like a God to some after they here that Obama said "call me if you need me."
I said this earlier in the thread but, why is Obama so intent on THIS debate all of a sudden. McCain numerous times has asked Obama for a town hall debate and every time he refused. Why is that?
next up!! suspension of the election.
I could almost see that happening[/:tinfoil:]
Of coarse i's an obvious PR political manuvuer. A desparate one and SOP for today's politics. It's sickening what we've become. The blue colars have no chance, not a chance!
Headlines one Digg are saying it's a ploy for McCain to hide Palin again by postponing the presidential debate to replace the VP debate and just canceling that one. I for one hope that doesn't happen because I'd like to see Biden debate Palin pretty badly.
Man, its like listening to olberman and hanity with some of you guys! Do you guys realize just how dupped you are?
(Yeah I know, the pot calling the kettle black)
That sounds ABSOLUTELY plausible. Cheap, cheap, cheap.
Holy shit, I hope people realize how CLUELESS this woman is.
This is not a right/left thing, she is simply not a smart person, and simply not ready for the job, should the Republicans win.
IT IS SCARY.

Yah, they are doing everything they can to keep her out of the media, because she only makes a fool of herself.
Yea, I saw the Charles Gibson interview and she didn't so well on that one, either. Is there a video of that whole interview with Katie Couric?
Okay, I found a video of it. I've only watched the first minute but I love the prolonged silence at about :50 in when asked a question.
Perhaps taking a pause before answering makes sense.

Point is, we can find fault anywhere if we look for it. To actually think anyone on either ticket is actually "Clueless" or "Not Smart" I think is absurd.
I think you're reaching pretty far there buddy.
-Yelling due to excitment != "little tipsy".
-Disagreeing with an ad = integrity.
-Saying Hilary is more qualified is what anyone would've done. What the hell do you expect him to say? "Suck it, loser!"? You always kiss your oppositions ass in speeches, it makes you look like a stand up guy.
-I think he handled the wheelchair situation pretty well. I could barely tell it wasn't a joke until the end.
-The racial slur was inappropriate. I don't know why the hell he thought that would be okay.
Anyway, you're showing us 30 second clips where he makes minor mistakes. We've shown you an entire interview where the Republican VP candidate is answering about as well as this bitch:
YouTube - Miss Teen USA 2007 - South Carolina answers a question
Your partisanship shows dramatically. Sen. Biden was clearly slurring his words. He spoke ill of the ad campaign not because of integrity but because he didn't think first. To publicly disagree in the way he did does not boast well for stability in their team. I've NEVER heard someone running for higher office saying they thought they weren't the best qualified. That's akin to Obama telling the audience at The DNC after accepting their nomination, that Hilary would have been a better choice!! Can you honestly imagine him saying that live in front of millions of viewers? The wheel chair snafu was to prove my point. THINK before you speak. That was the point of my entire point. Sometimes it's better to take a pause before saying something even if political pundits are going to use it as a sound bite. It's better than saying the words and not being able to get them back . That's debate class 101.
I still think Palin is clueless. I don't believe she has any understanding of world politics, economics, foreign relations, the list goes on. And this comes from the interviews I've seen with her, and also the LACK of interviews. The McCain campaign is intentionally insulating her because they know she will only show her incompetence if she gets into an unscripted arena where real questions are asked of her.
You and I couldn't be more on opposite sides on this but you know what? That answer wasn't demeaning or mean spirited so I respect your opinion. You also proved you took the time to read the entire post before responding. You're a rare breed fiddy.
Or.....all the candidates are really dumb as a box of hammers and we're all being scammed[/ :tinfoil:]
Oh, and for the record, that remark by Biden about Indians was pretty bad. I mean, it was probably meant as a joke, but still its not acceptable behavior.
