I gotta ask about this. Is it hypocritical to bash Limbaugh for calling this Fluke woman a "Slut" yet, not criticize Maher when he bashed(S) Palin by calling her a "Bimbo" or a "Cunt?" On a side note, Fluke IMHO is wrong. Should Obama give back the Million bucks Maher donated? Also, Maher kinda defended Limbaugh after he issued an apology.

They're both douches that often say things that I agree with. But they're zealots and hateful, and frankly I wish both were off the air. But yeah, what Maher said/did wasn't any better.

the only difference is that Maher is a comedian first and a political commentator second, he is looking for a laugh with every comment

If he was doing only stand up I would agree but not anymore. His first show "Politically Correct" tossed all of that out of the window.

Personally I could care less what they say or how, it just speaks to their personality (which is why they have a show in the first place).

However I do believe their is a difference between a comedian and a political talk show host. For example, I don't expect a black comedian to not use colorful language but I do expect a black professor to be professional and not drop the N word every five seconds. And the same goes for a white comedian (Maher) and a white political talk show host (limbaugh). Now if Howard stern were to say this, this would be a non issue.

Rosie never was funny, just a loud mouthed (dare i say it) woman. Don't they have to be funny to be a comedian?

Agreed on Rosie never being funny. The only thing funny about her is that she could beat up most people that post on this forum, myself included.

The only thing I will add to this is a response to the OP about Fluke being wrong...

My birth control pills without insurance: $300+ for 90 day supply
My birth control pills with insurance: $10 for 90 day supply.

    Shit adds up.

That video is really something. Megyn Kelly talks about how she did not have health insurance during school and her sister not having health insurance right now yet attack Sandra Fluke for wanting this small piece of health security for women. Sandra is trying to fix the very thing Megyn Kelly is complaining about! How do you not see this? I can't see how a sane rational person can watch that and then conclude that, "yeah, Sandra Fluke is bad for women."

She is trying to help all women, not just herself.

Why are people outraged by this? Is it a cost thing? Insurance companies already came out and said contraception coverage actually end up costing less in the long run compared to the cost of pregnancies. Also the government is not forcing women to take contraceptives, they want it as an option that would be covered under insurance. Fun fact, 98% of women admit to have taken contraceptives before.

    U mad bro?

Oh Tacdriver, you make it so I don't have to visit Drudge or Breitbart to figure out what the right is prattling on about and for that I thank you.

We're not talking about an employed person here. We're talking about an unemployed College student that wants someone else to pay for her choice of contraception. Free insurance for an activity that she can choose to not engage in. Should Georgetown or the tax payers pay for her car insurance as well? Not mad about this, just kinda sickened that she expects a hand out.

Rush can dish it out but he can't take it.

This time didn't he go so far as to say Fluke should put fuck videos of herself up on the net "so we can get our money's worth?" That's well beyond anything anyone said about Palin, isn't it?

My further 2 cents worth-- Garafolo was never a comedian, either.

Fixed! And yeah, here's hoping they silence him forever.

EDIT: As for the issue, I think they need to give away as much free birth control as possible. Certain areas of the country should have it introduced into the drinking water.

I don't think you understand how university insurance programs work. They're not free, welfare style handouts, you still pay for them and sometimes they're more expensive than other plans. And a lot of college students are unemployed because you know, they're going to school.

E.R. visits, Emergency Surgery, PAP Smears, Breast Exams, OBGYN Visits, are all acceptable things to expect from an insurance plan. Passing on the cost of her contraception to those in her plan or the university seems unfair to me though. If specifically....The Pill is needed for a medical condition though, that should be covered as with any other medication. If you're an unemployed student and you want to drive.....you pay for it. If you want to drink or smoke....you pay for it. That doesn't seem too much to ask. Focus on your studies and keep your pants on.
