I'm always for human rights so I voted yes. Just not sure about sending ground troops. Should the US get involved? Sure, we always do but to the extent I'm not sure.

It took all of 12 hours for them to change their tune though. what an unstable part of the planet. Ask for our help then criticize for the way we make it safe for us to be there. Myself.......I'da told them all to suck a nut and

Libya is no direct threat to us. Why should we intervene? He Khadafi did order the the deaths of almost 150 Americans while Britain was OK with letting the ring leader go. Does no one remember the Lockerbie bombing? I say we stay out of it unless we KNOW we can kill Khadafi. If we can kill him I think it's game over. We tried back when Reagan was POTUS but we only killed his son. What a miss. We do owe Khadafi for what he did but, not if it costs us billions. Just go in there with Rangers and Seals and take his ass out. Forget politics President Obama.......just do the right thing. Infiltrate.........kill the leader......and let the chips fall where they my. I know were still fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and we can't afford it but we could kill if we wanted to. Pres Obama doesen't want to unless the U.N. gives him the order. It doesn't make sense to me. He's so worried about the U.N.! Fuck them.

I'm for it in the following sense. We're waging two wars in the 'name of democracy'. Our bullshit invasion of Iraq particularly played up the 'bringing democracy to the middle east' angle. I think if we don't provide support here, when a people are actually trying to bring about change against a despot who personifies everything we claimed to hate about Saddam, then we've gone beyond hypocrisy.

Since WE ARE the world's police and, always have been why haven't we stepped in to Darfur? Obviously there of no threat to the US but isn't it the right thing to do?

Wiskaws what are you talking about? You really are starting to enter the tin foil fringe man....Like uni-bomber style.

What exactly would we do in darfur? Is there a central figure that if removed, would better the country? Being the world police is one thing but nation building is another (and something we suck at I might add).

You're that clueless Mr. (reference ME2)? mellow out, play some games, hone your skills expand your mind and have a sense of humor. IMHO it's the only way to survive our corrupt world.

    elephant_chinaShop.jpg

OK, so let's talk unibomber stuff here:
Since when have the citizens of this nation agreed to become the sole financiers of the world police agency? When did the citizens of this great nation
loose the ability to decide for ourselves what role our government takes? Everything in the news lately would tend to legitimize Kaczynski's rants.
    Q) WTF are we even over there for?
    A) to secure resources that are going to continue to make corporations money

IMHO: people are totally clueless and quite frankly, brainwashed, if they believe we're over there to "doing the right thing".
This ain't fucking tinfoil, that's just the way it is.
If we are "the world police" then our "police commissioner" is one corrupt mutha fuckah.

Jesus Christ guys, we're intervening in a legitimate revolution on behalf of civilians that were likely going to be slaughtered. I mean fuck, we've got the best military, it's great to see it being used for something good and decent.

If you have the power to do what is obviously the right thing and you don't do it, you're as bad they are.

... this is all without even considering the future ramifications of actually being seen in a positive light by a middle eastern nation's people.

You can even be a callous dick and say we're in it for the oil (which is entirely possible), but hey, that's a win-win with saving lives.

Again I am only for this if we are only there to support the UN. If our role gets any bigger I'm not for it, whether that's nation building or taking out gaddafi.

A joke: Command of the operation has been turned over from the US to NATO. Who provides command and control for NATO? The US! We basically handed control from ourselves TO ourselves, with with our serial number filed off! LOL!!

    Them: "OK"

Them: "We need the controller Dad"

    Me: "Oh yeah, hehe."
