Hmmm... this is a real bummer!

At least, even if he used substances in his career, he was an inspiration to many people who fought cancer.

I wonder how they got the proofs against him...

Not sure what to believe frankly. Maybe he doped, maybe everybody dopes, I dunno.

From some sources, he has been taking drug tests once a week for the past 10 years. (average)

I think he just got to the breaking point and cannot "dance" for the USADA anymore.

    This.

I don't think it'll tarnish his reputation too much, if at all. It's not like he won a single Tour de France under suspicious circumstances; the fact that he won seven Tours should be an indicator of talent/dedication. And he kicked cancer's ass. It's just not worth it to Lance anymore to continue jumping through all those stupid hoops, that's all. He knows he's a winner, lol.

i wont believe hes been positive for doping, but i do like to agree with what mince says.

after a while you just gotta get tired of that shit.
saying no to a few tests will just raise suspicions.

but if he did, if he really did, then who else is doing it?

They have more money than he does so it's a financial decision.

All of them dope in one way or another. I just think the anti-doping agency has a vendeta against him.

What a lot of people seem to forgetting here, is it's not up to the USADA to strip titles, it's up to the International cycling union (UCI). The UCI has already voiced a number of strong reservations about the USADA case.

You're innocent until proven guilty. Don't expect him to walk away if the UCI bring charges.

(actually that was a joke because Lance had a ball removed due to cancer)

Honestly I'm still not sure how I feel about the guy. As he has said, he went through many years without a single definitive positive test for drugs. At the same time, there is plenty of people saying he did, and it's near impossible, if not totally impossible to do what he did without drugs. This shit is rampant in high stakes sports.

It might not be the right answer, but damn near everybody in all professional sports use supplements in some way. Just think, 99% of drugs had legal uses at one time or another. It's just up to the athletes to determine the risk/losses compared to the benefits. Basically, if you aren't trying to "cheat," then you won't be able to compete with those that do.

Good book, written by the longtime teammate of Lance, and who has admitted to doping for all those years (i.e. has credibility).

The gist of it is, Lance is a prick and a cheat and a liar.

The only reason he is coming halfway clean about it now is that the statute of limitations is up on bringing serious charges against him. In other words he ran out the clock and now he can't get in real trouble.

    I highly recommend watching this:

It's about the Olympics (Ben Johnson vs. Carl Lewis) and basically makes it sound like everyone does steroids. They use them heavily during training then at the last minute they stop, and just in time to clear all the drug tests so they can compete. Really interesting video...

I bet every one of Lance's competitors cheats too. Nobody wins these types of events without using steroids, because the few that do and get away with it would crush those that don't.

If he did as alledged, he deserves what he gets. (IMHO)This does seem to fall into the category of: "it's only illegal if you get caught". A lot will come out if/when he talks
about the whole system of corruption and doping.

its a shame he admitted it, but everyones doping.
its all a matter of who gets caught.

i wouldnt be surprised if usain bolt is a doper, or was on a stimulant.
remember this when you watch anything on tv or in the movies...

    entertainment first.
    competition second.

its all about the mighty dollars, sponsors, technology backings, and investors/ments
you know how many products came out of this creation? you know how much money was made revolving around this guy's name? Dude probably fucked up, pissed someone off he shouldnt have, and that was the end of him. Dont fuck with the powers that be, they create you, and can destroy you at anytime.

c'mon people, by now you should realize how much bullshit it all is, thats why i dont even pay attention to the olympics

The integrity of the UCI will be called into question, as well it should be.
