So my computer is doing some weird things where the system lags for no apparent reason. I'll be scrolling my mouse across the screen and the mouse will just stop moving or move slowly is the most prevalent example. I changed the batteries in my mouse and that didn't fix my problem, any thoughts?

Specs: Damned if I know anymore, ~2010 system with a Intel SSD.

Is the little laser eyehole on the bottom of your mouse clear/clean? I had probs once only to find some teeny crumb or something has actually worked it's way up in there. I know you only used that as an example-- is the lag only with mouse movement or independent of it?

I may have figured it out, I hadn't run the ssd optimizer in months so far so good. Even though the only thing I use the computer for now is homework.

Are you running in AHCI mode with the latest intel RST drivers? The newest for PCH 5,6,7,8 series is 12.8, the newest you can install for ICH7,8,9,10 is 11.6 or 11.7 I believe. Also use toolbox to do a long drive selftest.
