yes to current pc and a big YES to my quad-core i'm finishing up in next 4 weeks. just need video card and chip when intel price cuts in few weeks.
Nope and don't care. Next computer will likely be a Mac as I'm done with Windows' bullshit and have never been a zomg epic gamer.
PC shit is too expensive for me anymore. I don't have the disposable income I used to have. I've been relegated to consoles...
Dirext X 10 = Crappy Xbox360 ports that only runs on $3000 hardware. Makes me glad I finally bought another console, because PC gaming is just a fucking money trap now.
What are the requirements? My rig is a bit out of date but i've still got 1.5gigs of ram, radeon x1600 w/ 512b mb ram, and a measly 2.2ghz processor.
For the full monty? 1) Windows Vista - which basically straps you in to buying a MUCH faster CPU and 2GB of ram. 2) Nividia 8800 GTS or GTX video card. But as far as I know there are currenly no DX10 games, and they aren't slated to hit the shelves for a while.
Even with the recent drop in PC part prices, I have no desire to upgrade. I even removed 1 of my 7800 GTXs from my rig because it was making it too loud (don't play PC games anymore). I might consider getting back into PC games when the next major title comes out. I'm talking like Half-Life 3 major...
I've got everything but the vidcard Vista x64 2gb ram but my Geforce is a 7900 GT. Very good but not Dx 10. However, I don't play on my PC anymore. Prey is half finished and I left Oblivion on my shelf. Nintendo made me return to the consoles with the DS (and GBA) and the Wii (and GC / VC)
I'd also like to point out that I have a Wii, Xbox 360, Macbook, and a OSX86 machine. Gaming on the pc is of no more for me. Don't have the cash to buy a new rig.
yeah I'm done upgrading for a long while. when money is of no concern, and the "next big thing" comes out....I'll buy what ever is on sale. the only pc game I play now is titan quest (which sucks because it crashes all the time), and thats about it.
I've got a copy of Vista (legit :O) and just got an 8800GTS, but I still have no reason to upgrade from XP.
For a nice laugh, Lost Planet actually runs slower in DX10 mode (in Vista only) than in DX9 mode in either Vista or XP. Still a lot of work to be done there. SP1 for Vista is already in the works, unsurprisingly...
I'm going to upgrade just get Core Duo or a quad core processor, but the video card...pffft....forget it. I'm looking at $1000 at least for an upgrade, not $2000. Plus, I don't play enough games to make it worth my while.
My hardware is up to it and beyond but Vista has no selling points for me at the moment: 1. Unstable 2. Silly 3. Um what games are Vista exclusive .. oh yeah Halo 2 ..
