Lol gizmodo just opened a big ass can of worms!

Let's see if they continue their apple biased reporting.

Someone mentioned in another blog that in Kalifornia it's illegal to purchase stolen property, not just sell it.

Not just that, CA penal code requires someone who finds something to exercise due diligence in tracking down the owner.

I can't find the article but the guy who found the phone actually called apple and told them he had this device and they did nothing. To be fair he did call up the normal apple support line and the front like employees probably thought he was crazy but still.

    Found it: http://gizmodo.com/5520438/how-apple-lost-the-next-iphone

Saw that. The other articles/comments I saw mentioned that in addition to calling Apple themselves, the guy should have called the bar since supposedly Gray had been calling the place trying to find the lost phone.

Do you really believe gizmodos account from the guy? They don't have any incentive to tell the truth, but in fact are better off to play it off as being all innocent. The guy also could be lying about things, for all we know he knew who the apple engineer was and stole the prototype.

Apparently the guy who found the phone shopped it around to Wired and others with a veiled request for cash:
