Moving towards the center after coming out of a primary contest is normal. Every candidate does it. However, the fact that McCain's own issues have changed since 2000 is far more disturbing than Obama's "flops".

On a personal note, I somehow doubt I'm going to make one of your cabinet seats. ;)

I expected nothing less from you.... :p I'm just joking around, man. I was just expecting more of a response from the patriotic crowd than he got. No offense meant. :D

if you guys think obama is going to be any better the mccain you are fools, the the thought that some of you joke about leaving this country if some douche bag doesnt win is great, put your money where your mouth is, see how shitty the rest of the world can be, these people agree, get the fuck out, their are people who appreciate it here. So we can't joke about this anymore? Damn I hate it when we lose another piece of our freedom! Soon we won't be able to joke about anything anymore.

What is that statement based on? I'm sure there is some truth in that but.........MANY? I've been waiting for someone to finally cry race. I'm willing to bet......not know for sure but willing to bet, more people will vote for Obama because he's black then people voting for Mccain because he's white.

    Down with stripes?!

Did you even tune in to any of the primary? Obama pulled shit for votes in much of the rust belt and midwest. Plus there's the never ending "oh shit he's a Muslim" thing, which while not directly race related, is a problem for the WASP American ideal.

Will black people vote for Obama because he's black? Happened throughout the primary and is polled to happen in the future. Will white people vote for him because he's black? Doubtful, even with racial guilt. My money's on the secret ballot and hidden racism trumping guilt and a desire to be "politically correct".

Obama does't have the Hawaiian vote, when he sent his sister to the primaries vice coming himself, that was like Michele Wie not signing her scorecard in the third round

Bingo, this is why he's going to lose. And it's going to be by margins that wont require a recount. In private circles, email chains from friends and family, everyone I know is bashing him. Most of it is bullshit, but it's always laced with "Well, what do you expect" or similar racial innuendo. And it didn't really get going until after the Reverend Wright scandal. A lot of you tried to dismiss that debacle, but I'm telling you it spelled the beginning of the end for him. A quick and unequivocal rejection on Wright was the only thing that could have saved him and he didn't do that.

What sucks is I haven't been keeping up on individual issues or Overall politic. But if precidence of parties holds true, I want to vote for Obama for the sake of the country, but that would be knowingly cut into my pocket book. Liberals have always (I use always loosely and unbased) voted to cut the defense budget, and since Obama is anti-war I'm assuming he's running the same game plan as Mr.C. (Clinton)

But if McCain wins, he is very pro Defense Budget, I forsee better pay and housing for DoD home and abroad. Maybe not much, but every little bit helps.

What's worse is I know it's my civic duty to vote, but I'm feeling more and more that "My vote doesn't count".

As for me, If Obama looses, I'll be here in Japan either way, floating my ass off on a junker, seeing the land, learning the language and loving the ladies.

let's talk about that "loving the ladies" part:D.
That would be alot more interesting than 'American politics as usual'.

I think his comments back in PA about voters being bitter and, clinging to their guns and religion hurt him tremendously as well.

Are you honestly trying to defend people who undermine the basis of a democracy with "he did it first" logic?

I was thinking about the 2000 election when I posted. How could 300 million people stand aside as five republican judges from the supreme court, who normally stand up for state rights, stop a recount that was passed by the state supreme court? Especially when that recount was so closely tied to who would win the election. It seems very blatant to me what they were doing. And when people get away with something, their confidence grows and they are willing to take bigger risks.

I am not pro-democrat or pro-republican. Both parties are very right wing when you compare them to political parties of other countries. I align closer to center. All I was saying is regardless of how the voting goes I believe the republicans will win because they believe (and I agree) they can steal it now if they have to, with no repercussions.

For being the supporting the troops military hero, Mccain sure has a crappy record when it comes to voting for the vets...

Frankly I don't think voter fraud has been significant enough to truly affect the outcome of the election, with the exception of possibly 2000.

Obama is in a no win situation, he's being attacked by whites and blacks. The black vote won't get him elected but it's nice to have in a close race. The white vote will get him elected but he doesn't know how to walk that fine line between the two. Like I said before he's made to many dumb mistakes and if he truly wants to win then he needs to suck up to the powers that be.

If Obama wins, something crazy will happen. I can't even imagine what kind of shit will happen with the blacks. I'm already seeing them flaunting about having a black president. My favorite is the shirt I saw some dude wearing, it had MLK's face next to Obama's and said "I have a dream..". I almost pissed my pants laughing.

Now he's a champion for equal rights? When did that happen? Last I knew, he was just a guy running for the presidency that happened to be black.

This I'm fully aware of. He's not the guy I want running for President but, I will pick him over Obama. I never claimed to be a Mccain fan just, the lesser of two evils blah, blah.
