So I'm sorting through my entire life worth of stuff these days, and this last batch was the computer junk:

Just tons of stuff: fans, HSFs, HDDs, various PCI cards, USB cables, IDE cables, power cables, software (real and fake) including Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP and Vista, ethernet cables, thermal paste, fan guards, RAM, you name it. Lots of useful things actually, but it's just junk to me at this point. I'm going to keep just a few things and see if I can sell the whole package (I tossed most of the old software) as some kind of fun "Computer Tweaker Mystery Grab Bag!"

I bet most of you guys have similar collections, huh?

I've condensed all my PC stuff down to a little handy toolbox thankfully. But that in itself is a horror show.

I threw out almost all of my spare hardware when I moved cross country. I only kept spare parts for my HTPC

I just went through all my tech-receipts. I had everything, receipts from my Athlon 800MHz, to my Viewsonic 19" CRT, to round IDE cables, CPU shims, cases, PSUs.... man I spent a lot of money on this stuff :p

My biggest waste of money ever was my car stereo though....

Most of my shit comes from the fact that I've always wanted a really HTPC. Unfortunately I never had all the right parts at the same time:eek:

Nah, I'm with you brother. I keep boxes, manuals, and extra cables for the current generation of hardware and that's it. Older stuff I give away to charity or pitch.

ha, I just finally cleaned out (part of) my filing cabinet for the first time in 8 years. I had a reciept for my 1ghz tbird among other things. I also tossed all my spare parts when I moved. I still have a shitload of cables, but I've condensed them down to one banker's box

Too lazy for pics right now, but I do have a ton of miscellaneous hardware that I need to get rid of.

I have a couple boxes of parts. Came in handy last week when I needed some memory to fix my parents computer.
