    I've been planning on getting another tattoo! I have one on my hip that I really could care less about because I was young and dumb buuuut I've been sketching out one that I want to get on the top of my foot.
    I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but my question is;
    On a scale of 1 to 10 how much will the top of my foot hurt?
    If it's one of the most painful places to get a tattoo I was thinking about getting it on my calf or hamstring. Also, my feet are so incredibly ticklish...I'm wondering if that will also be a problem....

    The top of the foot is fairly painful. Many nerve endings, and little flesh. It will be more of a burning sensation, but be really annoying.

    I recommend that you think twice about it. It's going to be very uncomfortable. Also, the top of the foot is a tough place to make ink stay due to being rubbed from wearing shoes and socks. Most artists won't do touch-ups on foot tattoos. Just something to think about.

    I think I might like a tattoo sometimes, but then I know in 20 years I'll think it's dumb and wish it were gone.

    I'm pretty sure that's not only thing you'll regret in 20 years, so go for it."just think in 100 years no one will care,especially you."

    My wife has orchids on her foot. She said it was super painful, but she really likes the tattoo a lot. The only issue that I would point out is that girls generally wear flip flops or some kind of exposed shoe, and tattoos tend to fade faster with direct sunlight. Hers has held up well though, I think it's like 4 or 5 years old at this point.

    I was with a girl who had, I think, 10 tattoos. Chest, thigh, calf, shoulders, feet, inner bicep... She said her feet hurt the absolute worst. So one way to look at it is that if you get it on your foot, that from there on out you will never have to go through that much pain again...

    But, then again, everyone takes it differently. I am terrible with pain, but my side piece was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be, based on how most described it.

    As Will said (The top of the foot is fairly painful. Many nerve endings, and little flesh.) If you take care of your art the colors will last. You should think about going without shoes for a while after the tat. Just to avoid irritating the spot.
    If you use a good sunblock when being out, it will help keeping your colors from fading also.
    Good Luck , let us see it when it's done.
