Well, getting back to the question: That's MSRP on a barebones, no options, V6 convertable, not including tax, financing (unless you're paying cash?), etc. Is it worth it? I'd say no. The "cost of gas" argument is just dumb. You'll fill up less, but you're buying a NEW CAR, the car payments and increased insurance cost far offset any gas savings. You may as well get the V8, my mom got 24mpg out of her GT. The other thing you need to think about is whether you really want a convertable. Is it worth the extra price+insurance to use it only half of the year? And it's gonna suck the first time someone spits or throws trash in your car when you leave the top down (I can imagine the thread about it now). For the record, my Mustang made it cross country twice, and the only problems I had were flat tires (really old tires). My mom had a '01 GT, biggest problem was having the clutch replaced around 40k, and that's mostly my dad's fault for driving like sh!t. And last but not least, my cousin drives a 2003 V6 convertable. He loves it. He's also a flaming homosexual, literally.
