Well, getting back to the question:

That's MSRP on a barebones, no options, V6 convertable, not including tax, financing (unless you're paying cash?), etc. Is it worth it? I'd say no.

The "cost of gas" argument is just dumb. You'll fill up less, but you're buying a NEW CAR, the car payments and increased insurance cost far offset any gas savings. You may as well get the V8, my mom got 24mpg out of her GT.

The other thing you need to think about is whether you really want a convertable. Is it worth the extra price+insurance to use it only half of the year? And it's gonna suck the first time someone spits or throws trash in your car when you leave the top down (I can imagine the thread about it now).

For the record, my Mustang made it cross country twice, and the only problems I had were flat tires (really old tires).

My mom had a '01 GT, biggest problem was having the clutch replaced around 40k, and that's mostly my dad's fault for driving like sh!t.

And last but not least, my cousin drives a 2003 V6 convertable. He loves it. He's also a flaming homosexual, literally.

I've had two V6 Mustangs. A '99 and a 2000. never again. While I love the look of mustangs, there are just too many issues. I never had a problem with reliability but I didn't own them more than 10k miles or so. Gas mileage was not great and insurance sucked bad.

It was a bitch trying to sell them. Well the first one sold fairly quickly as it was really clean, had a 5speed, had aftermarket rims and aftermarket exhaust. I sold it to a 16 year old lol for about the same price I bought it a 1 before. I got lucky on that one. The 2nd one was bone stock and was an auto. It took about a year to sell that thing and I took a HUGE loss on it.

i'm 6'6", a tad taller than integra (but i'm also 290 lbs) so a miata is out of the question. I can't fit in one AT ALL. The mustang is a pretty large vehicle.

If I ever get a mustang again, I will definitely go with at least a GT. They are more reliable and get better gas mileage than the V6ers. It will certainly be a while though if I ever get one. Right now I have a POS '93 Honda Accord. But it's reliable and gets good gas mileage. Oh and insurance is so cheap.

Personally, integra, i'd look at other vehicles unless you have a lot of money to throw around. For $25k, you can get a much better vehicle. If you do get one, I wouldn't buy new. Of course I'd never recommend buying new. It's a rip off. You can find a far better deal used. good luck and post some pics if you do get one!

I really HATE IT when cars get dubbed "chick cars". I have a pretty heavily modded (performance mods, not pretty stuff) M3. Does that mean M3's are "chick cars" now too? One of our neighbors has a Mustang. License plate SVTGRL. So is that a chick car now too?

And before you go all, "Well, you aren't the norm". I am. More and more you see girls out at the autocross, the track, windy back roads, etc.

    Just, hate it.

From now on I'm calling every V6 Stang I see a "Little Boy Toy". Maybe some of you will get a clue.

I've seen a couple pink cobras, so I'll say yes. And for the record, I fvcking HATE BMWs, you can classify them however you want.

Your anecdotal evidence is about as valid as mine.

And I would agree with you. V6 Mustangs are worse than rice burners around here. Horrible sounding dual exhausts, nasty body kits, mismatched GT and Cobra badges, even some with 3.8 badges (SWEET, you got the base model!)

You're right. Just today I read that the Center For Disease Control reported that 1 in 3 have dormant TB. But of course I'm just spewing shit I read. Unless I'm a doctor it's impossible to read such facts and understand them...

And no, I don't make $75 an hour on a regular basis. But then again I RARELY have to have my vehicles repaired either. Because I research reliability data, which are FACTS, and buy accordingly. Why is this such a controversial thing? If the numbers said Ford was the bomb, I would buy Ford. If Kia cars ran 175-200k miles with minimal effort I would sing their praises.

On a funny, related note - here in Austin I saw a Toyota Echo with spinners. I can now die happy... :D

lol people are so mean about people's cars, it's crazy. why such the hate?

if someone wants a certain car, let them. It's what THEY want. If they want to pimp out a V6 mustang, let them. If they want to pimp out a Civic, let them. It's not your car. They do it for them, not other people. My first Mustang (V6) had some aftermarket stuff and I did it for me, not somebody else.

Well, there ya go. Since you HATE BMW's I'll chalk the "chick car" statement up to the fact that you are just clueless and that explains the comment in the first place.

its annoying when some idiot with a stock civic throws on a fart can and i cant even hear the person sitting next to me in my car. thats why i care. do whatever you want to your car, but when you start bragging about how fast it is with a CAI and glass packs and neon lights and drive like a fucking idiot. thats when i get pissed off. the point is maybe YOU modded a v6 stang for yourself but 95% of the idiots out there mod it to brag and show off. and its quite annoying. i have a 115hp sentra. the only mod i did was tint, a short shifter and a stereo. why because those are things i like. i don't try to show off and be something I'm not.

If a car is emasculating just to look at, it's a chick car. For example.. now I know some of you may like the new VW Beetle... but I hate to break it to you.. it's a chick car. MSP's new CRV? A chick car. My mom drives one.. you can get absolutely no booty hollering at some ladies on the boardwalk in North Carolina while riding in a CRV (i know.. i've tried :( ) In the same way that a lifted 3500 HD truck is a manly mans car.. a Honda Del Sol cannot escape its fate as a chick car.

You may not like the term.. and I agree on a few cars that are dubbed as chick cars that shouldn't be (miata) but some are just so girly (new cougar).

since you mentioned the civic, I'm gonna throw in my .02 since I just got my first one. I think a problem people run into when they want to be "fast" in civics is that the VTEC doesn't kick in untill 6000 RPM. Those cars have their horsepower rated @ very high RPM's, so you need to get the engine revs high to get the advertised power. The redline on the Civic SI's is 8200RPM's. My car revs and revs and revs, and trust me, I don't give a damn about being loud. If anything I'd mod the car to be quieter w/o sacrificing the fun horsepower.

I agree with what you say about people modding and thinking they are fast. Drive the car for your enjoyment, not to be faster than others on the road. Most people on the road don't give a damn about what other people drive.

No doubt. I obviously didn't buy a CR-V to attract chicks or look cool. I've got a car load of bitches I'm already hauling around, there's no room! :)

I'll chalk up your comments to the fact that you're a woman. I think that's on par with your conclusion. You have no evidence to prove my cluelessness, other than not liking my opinion.

Integra asked for opinions, I gave several of mine. If you don't like opinions, get off the internet.

I saw a brand new Chevy Truck die on the road on a already traffic induced area. I laughed. Then I prayed my lil Dodge Neon doesn't do the same thing.

ROFL! I love it when I see a brand new car broke down, I guess I'm a sadist. I've seen a shiny new Hyundai Tiberon with the hood up and laughed my ass off. My buddy's friend, used to work for Ford, bleeds blue, all that jazz. His 2006 F-250 has already gotten a new engine. Holy fuck! Sincerely, has anyone got a similar Honda or Toyota story? I bet they're out there, but I've yet to hear one.

EDIT: Shit, Nidex works for Honda. You've got to have some stories.

    13 sec 1/4s = 13.001 -> 13.999

If I meant 13 second flat I would have said they run 13.0s stock..
