Oh yeah, they sure seem to be after him. Which is odd because CNN has historically had a liberal slant. Hillary's minions perhaps?

Dude, at least one media outlet isn't sucking him off. I hope Hilary gets the nod just so I don't have to hear anymore about this guy. I really don't think John McCain can beat either of them anyway.

He's thinking he wants to secure the party nod. Politics 101, pander to your side of the field before the primary nomination then play the middle in the general election.

I'm thinking just the opposite, every time I turn CNN on Obama is giving a speech. I think we have all lost our collective minds. Next time I go to Vietnam I think I'm going to ask for political asylum. The men love to drink, the women are damn fine, and they DONT have elections.

Him too...I don't hold a candle to any of these candidates but god dammit they all suck. I just thought I'd bring this up since there was already a thread committed to it. I've already addressed McCain's wacko pastor so I get free reign on Obama lol

People keep bringing up McCain's pastor, and there's simply no comparison. There's a reason that what Wright said was front page news and what he said was not. Don't get me wrong, I don't care for either of them. But Wright is far and away more damaging / scandalous. Wright's mostly out of the news right now, but middle (aka white) America has not forgotten about him. Just wait until the Pennsylvania primary.

This whole thing is getting stupider and stupider. I keep expecting Obama's side to get some sort of reason for supporting him, but its not happening. Just more generalities. And every time they do bring up policies (good example, see Ali's post earlier), its more or less "cut and paste" from his website and then they don't even know the effects of half the shit (granted most of it is horribly vague but meh.) I'd still much rather have him than hilary, but most of his followers are fucking idiots.

Watch this video, it is 10 minutes long of Fox News trying to smear Rev. Wright, and a WHITE paster, who knows Wright and Knew MLK defending him.

The man speaks with some pretty powerful clarity on the issue, and on the issues facing the country.

He started out very well, but when asked about the allegations Wright made that the White Man had introduced AIDS to keep the brothers down he just brushed it aside. WTF? And that bullshit about Wright's comments being something that was said in a "family setting" was pretty lame too. Things said from the pulpit are VERY public, and why would you need to tailor the message depending on who was listening? This video just reinforced that I already believed.

Who was that journalist? What a joke. I'm happy to see him get called on his game. Good find. I thought his bit about keeping things in context was refreshing.

Nice find 950! I'm sure he will be called unpatriotic and a bigot as well.

Has anyone watched any of Rev. Wrights sermon/s? Not just the sound bites but the whole thing. Rev. Wright was wrong about the AIDS thing and should apologize for that mistake. I've heard sermons like his before from black and white ministers and never would I call any of them unpatriotic or bigots.

Yeah, I've heard 20+ minutes of sermons, that included the sound bites that everyone has been listening to. And just listening to those I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. Listening to them in context sounded just as bad, if not worse. Defend Obama, sure. But not this Wright guy. He's a wacko.

    Ok I watched it.

I actually have a lot more respect for the guy AND his church and that's saying a lot because I am anti-organized religion. If all churches were ran similar to his I'd probably be a religious person, unfortunately most churches are farces and only serve one purpose which is to perpetuate their own existence.

A little off topic; My pro Obama friends thought this guy was crazy and anti American but after seeing this they changed their minds.

Wonder if this interview will get a response from corporate media. I may not agree with all this guys philosophies or his approach to certain problems, but I can't say his intentions are bad. I was glad to see he had integrity enough not to just sit there and apologize for 60 minutes.

the good thing about this election is, if you watch the news or better lack of, apparently the war in iraq is over and Bush is doing a damn good job.

Now that I've gotten to learn more about Rev. Wright I like him. This will hurt Sen. Obama with certain groups of White and Black Americans but that's just the way it is. I'm sure many will find what he has to say as offensive as will those who won't. Think I'll start going back to church now. :D
