Cool story Dan, I never knew that...

As for me, I joined sometime in 2001 but read the articles on tweak and lurked the forums before I actually made an account.

The thing that kept me here was the VooDoo card overclocking tips, drivers (remember GLide? ;)) and links to programs. There were a few members with the same card and the same needs.... so I stuck around.

Spring or summer 2001 here. I'd been playing Counter-Strike and my system wasn't keeping up with it, so I looked for a way to tweak some stuff. Found a Half-life tweaker here, and some overclocking articles. OC'd my PII 266 to 300 and OC'd my video card using tutorials found here or linked from here.

    Been hooked ever since.

I think it was around June 2000 - Dan had a lot of tweak/benchmark guides. I used to visit the site a lot before I signed up to the forums.

Did a search for CPU compatability and CPU overclocking and T3D was third link posted.
That was sometime back in late 2000. I lurked off and on for almost a year and joined up in November 2001. Times sure have changed since then. When I discovered the 'Off Topic' forum, most the posts were from highschool kids. I've been priviledged to watch many of you guys graduate highschool, go on to colledge/university and get degrees.
T3D.....what a cool place to burn spare/not-so-spare  hours.

GG mentioned jan 2005 as listed members join dates. That 6000 post mark eluded me twice due to
site getting hacked and attacked on two separate occasions. What a ride this has been....in a good way.

I joined in January 2000, was having some PC problems and the forums seemed like a good place to get help.

Found it looking to tweak my computer for Half-Life. I bought a VooDoo 2 because of this site, I think.

Like Dan, I migrated here from Rivazone. That site went belly up, we had sensed for a while that the end was near, and Tweak3D had been decided as a rally point. But as far as I know Dan and I are the only refugees still here. Anyone else still here from the Rivazone days?

In 2000 as kelrod when I was trying to build my first desktop. Got all my help here, one guy in particular, I remember he was from England. He got flamed a lot and left, can't remember his name. I moved to Vietnam in late 2000 and didn't have internet access for three years.

i was on rivazone for a brief time, then migrated over to tweak3d in late 98 i believe. i've been known as many names on here and nobody really knows much about me because of that and that I don't post all that much.

I was 12 years old I think and in 8th grade at the time lol. man, now i'm 25. that's insanity to think i've part of a community like this for that long on the internet.

I can't really remember now! I think I started to come here after searching for tweaks for either Quake or Half Life (pre steam, after it first came out), for my Pentium 60 mhz with a PCI (not -e) TNT card, and OEM sound card in it's ISA slot, if I remember correctly (unlikely). Tweak had a guide and an auto-config generator for it. Contrary to what the info on the left says, this was before 2000, let alone 2005! ;)

    I've been here ever since.

Edit: maybe it was 2000 rather than before 2000. My memory is too hazy beyond what happened just the day before... :p

Well I had the acct since january 2000. I only asked a few questions here and there, and lurked for a long time.

when I got claimed was when I actually took full part in discussions and OT.

I joined in 2001, may if I recall correctly.

I stumbled on the site because I was tweaking my TnT2 card, and I think I check an unreal tournament tweak guide.
