I LOLLED at the Oxi-Clean.
In an effort to streamline my process and get my brew time down, I decided to look at some of my bottlenecks. A large part of the process was spent shuffling around for stuff and carting the supplies up and down the stairs. In an effort to eliminate these first world problems and become lazier, I decided to build a brew stand.
I saw some pictures of a dude's weldless setup and thought to myself 'I could do that'.
I started with a bunch of these:
Cut them down, added some nuts, bolts, casters, a couple of burners, a pump, and the result was this:
Amped to give it a test run this weekend!
The added time investment is really what has been holding me back from doing all-grain brewing. Plus how easy it is to scale the batch sizes with extract - I can make 5, 10, or 20 gallons and the effort/time involved is about the same. Eventually I'll probably settle onto some sort of hybrid system, all-grain AND extract. But for now I'm full bore into the wine making, 24 gallons in process and another 12 ordered. Given the ageing requirements for some varieties I wanted to spool up quickly.
Midwest Homebrewing was hacked. Watch your statements.
Forgot Midwest and Northern are the same company now so this could affect them as well.
On the topic of home brewing, I'm working on making my own wine.
I totally forgot about this thread, let alone that it was pinned.
I kegged my first beers last night and only sprayed beer out of the co2 line once!
I haven't brewed in about a year maybe 2 now. I need to clean all my stuff and make it happen, it's just been so hot. I have 3 wheat recipes and a milk stout just waiting for me to get to it
