well the real last level is about as long as the introduction 1-17 levels
so i wouldnt doubt that it could take some 3hrs.. but i managed to fair well under that and got cake. I hope everyone explroed around to find all the hidden markings on the walls and such.

another thing.. im playing through hl2 again.. and i just realized how massive this game really is.. seriously, its one big map! i forgot how long this game really is!!! I played a quarter of it when it was on pc, played through it when it was released for the xbox1.. Playing through it again and knowing whats ahead and what to do quickly STILL doesnt make it go through faster.. amazing! I hope ep1 and 2 are just as long

How can they cram all this into 9gb?

I don't remember Episode 1 being very long, but damn...I think I should just go back and play HL2 again. I've beaten it like 3 times already. This way the story can be refreshed. What a deal this game was.

Is it just me or do the combine take less hits from the SMG to go down? I'm assuming they eased up the difficulty due to the controller. BTW, swimming is a bit troublesome with gamepad.

thats weird, me personally i find the smg takes too many rounds to kill any combine soldier...

the smg i found to be very poor in this port and i dont remember it being so bad in the pc and xbox1, the only time i use it is for the secondary grenage.

The SMG has always been a crappy gun. It's more of a close quarters/last resort weapon. I just use it for the alt fire, or when my shotgun ammo is low.

Managed to complete portal pretty quick, wish there was a report in the end. apparently theres some advanced levels now. I like these achievements with halflife/steam btw, its alot like the 360's ideas.

I beat all the Advanced stages last night. The 6th one had me yelling profanities at my poor TV. I'm gonna tackle the Least Steps/Portals tonight.

Damn, time constraints have kept me from my beloved orange box. :(
I last got to the point where I'm lobbing shit at the striders in white forrest.
Maybe this weekend....Hmmm, going to rain like crazy today? I think I'm sick...

Yeah, I finished it first, then did all the guild quests.

Then I downloaded the expansion and beat that.

The scaling enemies are gay; I just keep the difficulty slider on normal. My guy is pretty fuckin' insane. Level 30 or 40 something... I haven't played in months, I'll have to check.

They're rehashes of those specific chapters. I wouldn't call them EASY but definitely more challenging. Not impossible. Pay close attention to the environment.

My gifting is already complete. I started ep2 over to try and get the acconplishments that i missed. Carrying that damn gnome is a bitch. I have to go back into the mines and bitchslap the 16 grubs I missed also.

Well I broke down and bought Portal last night. Beat it in a few hours, but I'm not quite sure if I got the cake ending or not. It was a blast, and I've already beat all but one of the advanced levels. I can't beat the one with the stupid turrets in the cages, man it's annoying.

Gonna play through it again to see if I get a different ending now that I know what I'm doing.

*edit* Well, looks like I got the cake ending my first time through. I still haven't unlocked the terminal velocity achievement though, I need to work on that.

I finished ep2 last night (finally) and am getting ready to run portal now.
