I have 2x300 Gig discs in a combination of Raid 0 and Raid 1. Something like 280 in Raid 1, and then the other 40 (20x2) in Raid 0. Then I have 3x500 Gig discs in Raid 5, so thats 1TB. Adding up I get about 1.32 TBs.
lol thats alot of drives. I have 1 320 gig in my pc and 80 gigs in my laptop that is going to my bro in a few days.
I'll post mine now. 3x 10GB 1x 20GB (WD) 1x 30GB (Samsung? Lappy) 1x 60GB (WD) 1x 80GB (Maxtor) 1x 120GB (WD) 2x 160GB (Seagate) 1x 200GB (Maxtor) 1x 250GB (WD External) 2x 320GB (Seagate) = 1.72TB All drives are PATA. I've got 650GB in my garage server. And 770GB in my desktop. The rest of the drives are either just floating around in unused computers.
It is, i am going to retire the 60 and 80gb ones soon and probably just use the 100gb in a raid 1 for backup once i get a 1tb drive.
This is my actual diskspace in GB, not the HDD maker claims 232.88 232.88 372.61 372.61 465.76 465.76 2142.5GB
1.17TB. Most of mine is in redundancy. It's amazing that a majority of respondents are over the terabyte mark.
Hdd maker claims are accurate. They measured in actual 1000mb=1Gb..... computer software, however, measure gig as 1024mb=1Gb I have: 120Gb 320Gb 300Gb external 500Gb+500Gb in raid-0 ____________________ 1440Gb in the box 1740Gb total
I have a 80 GB as my main windows drive and a 320 GB for storage. mouse got a 80 gb in her machine and we have a 40 gb laying around.
100gb - internal 160gb - external 320gb - external 580gb - total ... wtf happened to this place? so many ads everywhere, and category pictures for threads? damn, i havent been here in a while
Ads=revenue=Dan not working. (Slacker) If they bug you, there's always adblock. As for the thread tags, they're an amazing gift from the gods. Per the OP, you all have a shitload of storage. Personally I have 2x250 gbs, an 80 gb and whatever my Mac is going to come with.
Wait, you skipped my category. You have from 0-100 and then 200-300. I only have a 120gb hard drive. It's the only hard drive I've had and i got it in 2003. I'm sure it'll die on me soon so I need to buy a new one.
I have 4x 320GB in a RAID5 2x 400GB in RAID 1 2x 500GB in RAID 1 2x 160GB 1x 120GB That's 2.3TB in storage. Then I have the 4 OS drives. 60GB in my laptop, 80GB in the desktop, 120GB on my server, and 40GB on my test machine.
My space breaks down as follows: Macbook - 160GB XP OS - 250GB XP data - 320GB NAS storage - 320GB External #1 - 120GB External #2 - 60GB Daughter's XP - 40GB Daughter's Ubuntu - 40GB Wife's XP - 40GBx2 (mirror) 1.39TB as it turns out, I forgot some.
Buy Controller Card, RAID Card, ATA Card, SATA Card, PCI Card, IDE Controller at Newegg.com My server has 9 of my disks. The 4x 320GB in RAID5, 2x 400GB in RAID1 and both of my 160GB disks along with the 120GB OS disk. My desktop has the 500GB RAID1 and 120GB disks along with an 80GB OS disk. My test machine just has the 40GB OS disk. My laptop only has the 60GB. I have a RAID1/0/10/5 4xSATA controller and a software based IDE controller card in my server. I have a RAID1/0/10 2xSATA controller card in my desktop. EDIT: Real geeks take storage seriously
I've still got 2 SATA connections and another IDE on my mobo....can go another 1.3Tb. Storage is pretty cheap now days.
i can't believe how many of you have RAID. the only things i know about RAID come from my job since i'm quoting/ordering servers all day long. i only have 120gb in my mac...no clue really though as it was my dad's laptop and i took it from him. i also have a 250 gb external hard drive from 950 but it's currently being shipped back to new egg since it was broken out of the box
man, im gonna start stashing some dough for a new computer, im gonna incorporate one of those in it probably, are those tough to set up?
