We're not supposed to be above freezing until next Thursday. It's 4 below right now and dropping.

I hear you. It was 12f ( w/ a windchill of -2f ) two days ago and I had to repair a barn that had been hit by a Lincoln Continental. That cold air had icicles hanging from my mustache. I worked up a sweat and about froze by the time I was done.

With all the cold the trees are snapping all around. I spent yesterday making damn sure I am ready. The generators batteries are charged and on float chargers, they're fueled, the driveway got de-icer on them last night, all the walkways are de-icer'd, there's three months of food in the house, three days of firewood in the house and a contingency fund built up for missing a week's worth of work without being financially painfull. The vehicles tanks are topped off and there's fuel to run the generators for a week. So let it snow gosh dammit! ;)

Our snow still hasn't left. We haven't gotten any more but there's still a couple inches on the roads since it hasn't warmed up to melt.

It's 3 degrees right now. Drive in was -8. My Accord handled it like a champ.

The apartments on the retail property I do management/operations for failed to properly prep their parking garage. So they had not one but two dry systems spewing water setting off the alarm at 0415 and 0830 today respectively. 400 pissed residents and the fire department stating they couldn't turn it off and that an entire replacement was necessary.

Well brace for this one. There's super-cold artic air behind the front and for you, it's probably going to mix with that sub tropical moisture
from the south. Whammo! "The Day After Tomorrow"

Drove past the Chase building downtown this morning. 3*F at ~8am. And I have to work, and like 1/3 of it is gonna be outside. Fuck this.

Yeah but your Denver lookin' ass has that wonderful dry air that I oh so desire for my lungs. Up huuuur it's always humid as a bitch, summer and winter. Meaning summer is sticky as fuck, winter is extra extra cold and you feel it in your bones.

Within the next 5 years honestly I'd like to move out there, really. I hated the culture in Utah when I visited twice, but I loved how easy it was to breathe and the fact that if I was too cold or too warm, I could drive up or down the mountain and fix that. I enjoyed Summit County but obviously too touristy, too expensive and not enough in the way of jobs... Denver was alright though. A little small/quiet, but good enough and easy to breathe! Considering my allergies/asthma. :[

Although, 5 minutes ago I just finished a blend door actuator in a '99 Civic for a customer, wearing nothing but a hoodie (2 hoodies layered), and jeans. 8 degrees. No wind though, that's the key.

It's hit here too. We've had two days 15-23° with two very light snows-- dusters.

Now all the snow melt has turned to sheet ice. went out on the 4X4 Rancher yesterday to play around and the 4 wheel drive was useless....it's slickern' snot out there.
It's going to be fun getting all my tools to a bathroom demo and remodel tomorrow. The east side of the Cascades is more like the artic than the wild wild west.

just think.....all this and more is heading to Colorado. :p

That is one thing I am thankful for, that we get snow storms and not ice storms. Except for the Springs. Their damn hills always seem to be covered in ice.

It was an icy frigging mess out there this AM. I got my weekly adrenaline fix for sure. The thermometer at my barn read 0.
It took 1/2 hour just to unstick my truck and tool box doors with a hair dryer.
The snow we had was the stickiest snow I'd ever seen.
It just packed instantly and froze into a solid sheet.

I need to shave my beard... I look fucking crazy. But everything froze up here, ponds were like 4 inches thick. Cracked and we had to get off though.

(yah, it's been ages since I've been on T3D, sorry...)

In the valley things are beginning to thaw. But up in these foothills, the snow is still here or has been tramped into solid ice. We're at 30% chance of freezing rain for the next two nights....Oh swell!

So since it's been ranging from about -8 to -3 before dusk/after dawn, to 15-20 for a high during the day, plus a wind chill that makes both those temperatures go down about 20 degrees, for the past 3 days... the fact that it's 25* right now feels like fucking summer. I'm gonna get all the stuff I need done outside done today! Woooo!

...how pathetic it is being happy about 25 degrees.
