Preordered? Pfft. I downloaded my copy a couple of days ago. I gotta say, I'm not that impressed so far. With Niko's accent it's like playing Borat - The Game Of The Movie and the controls are totally off from what I've come to expect from a GTA title. But maybe I'm just nitpicking. From what I've seen so far (only about 2 hours into it, damn work), I would say that Vice City is still the best game in the series.
Do you remember the old anti-grav cheats? Yeah that's pretty much what the driving is like this time around. I used to be pretty good at driving in GTA but I just cannot get a handle on the cars in this one!
lame. what system are you playing it on? I wish it would come out for the PC. I'd be tempted to buy an xbox controller just for it
Yeah I've got it on 360. The PAL version got leaked a whole day ahead of the NTSC version. I had to take precautions though. If I get caught playing it early then I will definitely be banned from Live so I have to leave my ethernet unplugged and reset the system clock so any achievements I get won't show me playing the game a week before I am meant to!

The GF gave me a $50 gift card recently, so I may as well get the new hotness with it. I was skeptical at first, but I'm interested to see how the GTA series advanced. I'll probably get it Tuesday/Wednesday.
oh my. i just watched the video review.. how in the fuck did they manage to pack such an expansive, detailed game into one dvd.. thats fucking amazing. a 10 rating.. wow. this will probably be goty.
I'm not huge with online gaming...Think I should go for the PS3 or 360 version? I hear the PS3 version has a lot less pop-in, which I hate.
I'd go with the PS3 version... I second my thought on the 360 pick-up... Especially with the ring of fire still out there. With all that's in this game, I fear it will be the end of alot of xbox's
I really hope the PC version comes out soon but knowing rockstar it will be at least 6months to a year.
Yeah, I'm about to be on xbox number five or six. I lost count. They really are the most poorly manufactured electronic devices in recent memory. I hear there's an optional install for the 360 version, though I haven't read it on any real website. Just hearsay.
The 360 has caching, but that is for everything not just particular games. It's also not texture caching, that is exclusive to the PS3. How to clear your 360's cache: Xbox Team : Clearing the System Cache
Lol, funny you should say that... Just got RROD on my box a couple of days ago. I've sent it off to my guy who modded it for me, should get it back by friday. M$ can't do it for me since obviously my warranty is void so I'm having to do the old xclamp fix.
that sucks steve. I read somewhere else about some guy getting a RROD after some solid playtime on this game. Must be too much for it to handle, haha
Man, I run my 360 for 12 hours strait sometimes and I've had zero problems with it. I guess I got one of the good launch systems.
I'm on my third 360 but my disc tray is completely messed up...I need to smack the xbox to open and close the disc tray. M$ wants $250 to fix it but since I have no Red Ring and thats almost the cost of a new one I've choosen to keep it. Has anyone taken the day off to play this game? I'm sitting in my senior Computer Apps class and 9 kids have taken the day off to play all day long.
