Order a new one from newegg, place the old one on the floor. Once that proceedure has been completed, spit on the old one, take aim with your foot and comence to stomp the living crap out of the old one..... then wipe lots of butter on it because it's toast.

I just purchased one of those build your own flash drives from compusa ($10). It's basically a usb key that fits a memory card. I have a ton of mmc cards laying around, now I just pop them in the key and use them as flash drives.

What you might want to do with your existing drive is take it apart and check all the solder points. If the usb connector isn't making good contact with the board it may cause problems.

I recently broke one of my usb sticks (the one I got from a secret santa here:D) and I just resoldered it and now it's good as new!

You might try this on it, to try and recover it's contents, before performing the patented edit: Patent Pending ;) "Whiskers Method for Flash Drive Repair" on it. :D
